Horrible name. Used predominantly for dogs or people who hyphenated the siblings.

Marcipex · 20/10/2018 09:02

Looney. Awful. Don't know any Lunas I'm pleased to say.

Slappinthebass · 20/10/2018 00:08

I've heard of a handful but over the last 10 years, but non recently. In my experience it's a particular type of parent that is drawn to it. Slightly geeky goths, out of curiosity, do you fit that description OP? Grin

ZebraKid71 · 19/10/2018 19:49

There are two on my street, a baby and a toddler. And I know of others.. It seems to be common in my area. Ironically by people who wanted to be different and quirky...

MikeUniformMike · 19/10/2018 18:24

How about Lona or Shuna

notacooldad · 19/10/2018 18:00

I don't know any and I know a lot of children through my job.

Cosmoa · 19/10/2018 17:57

1 baby and 3 cats. But I love it!

L0kiWh0 · 19/10/2018 13:28

I don’t like it, I put it in the same category as Lola, Lexi, Layla, and Mia/myah/miah.

coffeekittens · 19/10/2018 13:24

Luna is really popular where I am, especially with younger mums (under 20s) and a very popular name for cats. Love it for a cat but not keen on it as a name for a person.

MeLuna is a brand of menstrual cups as well, which would put me off for some reason. Maybe because it's the brand I own but I can't get over the association. I actually quite like the way Luna sounds though. Plus the Harry Potter reference would be brought up constantly and as the character was bullied, there's a lot of built in nicknames to be used.

Cbeebiesrehab · 19/10/2018 12:45

I know two girls under two with the name (and quite a few pets too)
I do think it will date badly sorry.

TempsPerdu · 19/10/2018 11:38

It’s one of those names that seems to be everywhere at the moment - as well as Harry Potter, it’s also a popular pet name and has been used by a fair few celebrities so it’s heard a lot.

I actually quite like it but wouldn’t use it - likely to date quickly imo.

PaulMorel · 19/10/2018 09:52

Haven't heard much of that name. I think it's very unique and classy.

GreedyBastard · 19/10/2018 09:29

Hersetta427 · 19/10/2018 09:26

Looney Luna. Nope

GrowThroughWhatYouGoThrough · 19/10/2018 09:17

My dog is Luna and she gets called looney or loopy

SmiledWithTheRisingSun · 19/10/2018 09:15

One but she's a dog.

SimplyPut · 19/10/2018 09:15

One two year old. Parents have very ordinary names and wanted her to 'shine' Hmm.

When she has a tantrum her uncle refers to her as Luna the loon. Lovely girl, not so great name.

Ruddle91 · 19/10/2018 09:14

Luna is a lovely name.

I also have the Luna buggy - nearly new condition £20 and a perfect fit for my car.

pugalugs90 · 19/10/2018 09:11

I know 2 dogs called Luna 🙈

HalfBloodPrincess · 19/10/2018 09:05

88claire · 19/10/2018 09:03

I think it's a lovely name!!

lakehouse · 19/10/2018 09:00

Great name for pets, not a name for humans!

whyIsARavenLikeAWritingDesk · 19/10/2018 08:55

I only know one and I love it. Really wanted to call DD Luna or Nova but DP said nope

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 19/10/2018 08:52
