Roll up! Roll up! All those unashamed to be inappropriately obsessing about a new Royal baby name welcome here!

As Harry and his desecendants are rapidly becoming outnumbered by the Cambridge side of the family they have much less to worry about in terms of a suitable name for a monarch, therefore, within reason they can be bit more free and creative, but still relatively formal.

I wish we could place bets but in the meantime I invite you to have a REALISTIC stab at naming the new Sussex baby.

We can have Stacie (Anastasia) or Fred (Frederick) but I will go with

Girl: Alexandra
Boy: Leo

1 boys name and 1 girls name each please no massive lists of Royals since Ethelbert!

“Not saying she isn't however there is royal protocol which they have to adere to.”

Ah, not Rosa or Martin Luther, then Wink

It won’t be Emmeline. The Pankhursts weren’t great on the franchise and racial equality.

SillySallySingsSongs · 19/10/2018 08:18

Meghan is definitely a feminist and human rights champion.

Crystal or Tiger.

Hanuman · 18/10/2018 21:53

Alice or Albert

PurpleFlowersInMyHair · 18/10/2018 21:10

@SillySally but is it a political statement when women got the vote 100 years ago and there is probably not one person in this country that disagrees. Ain’t no politics in that. Meghan is definitely a feminist and human rights champion.

SillySallySingsSongs · 18/10/2018 17:31

Emmeline is a lovely name and my SIL called their little girl that a couple of months ago.

I doubt M&H will though as would be deemed political.

moredoll · 18/10/2018 13:55

Emmeline is lovely and great nod to the suffragettes after the centenary year.

LethalWhite · 17/10/2018 16:13

Ah, I didn't realise that. Guess all the L names are off the list!

Good job Louis is a Prince Grin

GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat · 17/10/2018 16:10

Lena isn’t a Lady though....

I’m really really hoping it’s not James. I love that name but I’ll never here the end of it if they call it James!

SillySallySingsSongs · 17/10/2018 16:09

@LethalWhite Zara Tindalls DC don't have titles though which is probably why they aren't so traditional. Same for Peter Phillips whose elder daughter is Savannah.

LethalWhite · 17/10/2018 16:06

Just checked though, Zara's brother has a daughter called Isla

Scratch that off

LethalWhite · 17/10/2018 16:04

I don't know Silly, Zara Phillips had a daughter called Lena. Lady Lena.

I think Lily is a good fit. Old but current, and popular in the US and UK. Lady Lily Mountbatten-Windsor sounds fine. Sophia and Isla are good shouts. I don't think it will be as traditional as Will and Kates

SillySallySingsSongs · 17/10/2018 15:57

I can't see it being Lily. It also has to go with the title they will be fine. Probably Lady. Lady Lily sounds funny.

I think it will be James, John or Frederick for a boy and maybe Sophia or Alexandra

Stanley

faithinthesound · 17/10/2018 14:37

If it's a boy it won't be Charlie. Wills and Kate already have a Charlotte, and whether they're calling her Charlie or not (I suspect not since it's terribly informal and she's a wee royal) it's just too close and confusing. Additionally, while I could see Meghan wanting to adhere to tradition as the eyes of the world look on critically, I can also see her wanting her child to have his or her own identity.

I love Hugo for a boy. Secondary choices: Joshua, Adam.

I like Diana if it's a girl, to honor his mother. I also like Lily and Genevieve.

SillySallySingsSongs · 17/10/2018 13:34

Diana will most definitely be in the name, maybe even first name.

It maybe a middle name, but personally I think it's unfair to use it as a first name. The child will be compared even more with Diana than they will anyway which imo is unfair.
