We’ve finally got our shortlist down to 3 which wasn’t easy. I really love these 3 names now and would love to know what your favourite of these would be. I appreciate they are not the most ‘original’ of names and all appear in the most popular lists. However, strangely none appear to be very popular in our area ( yet! ) so we really don’t mind. Just really interested in honest thoughts when you hear each name and opinions on best name from these 3.

MadisonAvenue · 20/10/2018 08:46

Joseph

LittleDoveLove · 20/10/2018 07:06

I like Leo it's one of ours too.

Snappedandfarted2018 · 19/10/2018 13:53

Joseph. But I’m biased because I have one!

huttub · 19/10/2018 13:50

Leo....you can't shorten it!

SpicedGingerTea · 19/10/2018 13:45

Joseph. Loads of Jacobs at DS's school. Not keen on Leo.

LygiaCathar · 19/10/2018 13:37

Jacob for me.

Eleanor90 · 19/10/2018 12:51

I looove Leo!

Joseph is also great, and I do agree that it’s the most timeless.

Leo Joseph. Job done Grin

Stereomum · 19/10/2018 12:48

Jacob, we have a Jacob not met another one yet and he is 15.

KiplingAngelCake · 19/10/2018 12:45

All lovely, but I'd go with Jacob.

PaulMorel · 19/10/2018 09:47

I personally like the name Leo. It means "brave man" in German.

Joseph. There’s a million Leo’s and Jacobs out there.

LittleMouseontheDairy · 19/10/2018 08:11

Good choices op!
I have a Leo and I love, love his name. It sounds both strong yet melodious. No others in his class or at nursery (am in the SE).
I’m pregnant with DS3 and I love the nn Joe and Joey but for reasons of association only I’m not so keen on Joseph. I’m looking at other ‘Jo’ names that could give the same nn- ie Josiah but not sure if I love it enough.
I have Jacob on the short list again as I like this name too. I used to hate the potential nn ‘Jay’ but I quite like it now. It’s supposedly popular but I only know one (who is 9).
So in short my favourite is Leo then Jacob then Joseph but you can’t go wrong!

llangennith · 18/10/2018 11:45

Leo is nice but it's so common now.

AlliKaneErikson · 18/10/2018 11:28

Leo!

Go with the one you love most, or wait til he's born and see what he looks like. Smile

Autumnrose123 · 17/10/2018 20:39

Thanks everyone for all the replies. I’m glad everyone generally seems to like the 3 names as I haven’t shared them with anyone in real life. A real mix of favourites so not sure it’s helped shorten the shortlist, lol! But think Jacob seems to be most people’s top favourite. I think Leo is my slight favourite but Joseph and Jacob might be slightly more timeless.
