Do you know any children called...

David
It was so popular in the 80s there was one in most classes. I think it is a lovely name with a great meaning but is it too dated or are people still naming their baby boys David? And would he inevitably end up being Dave?

They youngest David I know (or use too), is probably about 20 now

I think it would be hard to avoid Dave forever. I always think Daniel is due a revival, and I prefer Dan to Dave.

I know two under 5, one Romanian and one Spanish living in the Uk. One is always,always David, the other is Davey which is sweet and nicer than Dave.

Being biblical it's classic and will come back at some point, along with Peter, Matthew, Steven and Christopher which were everywhere when I was at school. It's a very international name which is a bonus.

There was one born in my NCT group (3 years ago) Parents were english/Spanish so I suspect it was chosen as a name that worked well in both languages. I can't think of any at my son's nursery though.

All of my kids. I go through so many names it's easier to call them Dave.

Seriously, I know one. Around 3/4y. Next Dave after that is late twenties

I know one baby and ds, 8, has one in his class. Otherwise I can only think of adults, early thirties and upwards. I think it’s a nice name and due a revival.

The youngest David I know is about 17. It's a great name.

I read a couple of years ago that the average age of someone called David in the uk was 46.

The Royle Family had Baby David in 2000, and I think that had an effect.

Youngest one I know is a late teen. Most of the David's I know have been Dave.

I have only come across a Polish one too - maybe it's popular in Eastern Europe!
Never thought of it as an animal name though!

DS has one in his year 7 at secondary.
DD has one in her school, he's Polish so it's a different pronunciation.
I've never heard either of them call them Dave though.

Weirdly, I know a lot of dogs and cats called dave. It's a bit ironic now I think. I know no children called David.

I know one, and he'd be at secondary school by now. He was always David in full.
