Not keen, but it isn't the worst I have ever heard.

I'd be more classic and go for Amelia or Amelie, but I guess it is just personal taste.

I love it! But at the same time.. The thyst sound isn't the nicest sound to say (to me anyway). It is lovely though. And if someone told me it was their name I'd be pleased to hear it!

I like it. There’s always the perfectly sensible if a bit dated Amy as a nickname if she grows up to want a more ordinary name.

Polkasq · 07/10/2018 20:34

I like it.

Amethyst is pretty and unusual.

Ruby, Pearl and Crystal are the stripper stones.

ladybirdsarelovely33 · 07/10/2018 20:27

I think it's lovely but perhaps better as a middle name.

SmallAndFarAway · 07/10/2018 20:25

You know that old saying, does it sound more like a stripper than the president (or PM) - I'm afraid Amethyst falls in the wrong camp. Amelia, perhaps?

PurpleDaisies · 07/10/2018 20:25

Awful. Sorry.

Ruby is nice though.
