Rosaline
Helana
Lucile
Cecilia
Heidi
Nancy
Frances
Ophelia
Imogen

With middle name of either Susan, Josephine or Maureen

From your new list I love Maria and Claudia.

JakePeraltaNYPD · 08/10/2018 12:52

If you like Ada but want a full version how about Adaline? :)

OutPinked · 08/10/2018 12:46

Dahlia- black Dahlia so it’s a no from me
Delilah- hey there Delilah/my my my Delilah. Don’t like it.
Camille- very pretty
Rosaline- also pretty
Helana- prefer it spelt Helena but also nice
Lucile- pretty
Cecilia - love this, Cece is a cute diminutive
Heidi -always been a fan
Nancy- not a fan, just reminds me of the saying ‘stop being a nancy’
Frances- not a fan and would probably become Frankie
Ophelia- beautiful
Imogen- a bit dull nowadays

AnElderlyLadyOfMediumHeight · 07/10/2018 20:46

Ines (may have pronunciation issues - how about Agnes? Same vibe, more familiar) and Maria are nice. Valentine is a boy's name.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 07/10/2018 10:15

Love Rosalene(this spelling), Frances, Helena, Lucille, Cecilia, Heidi and Nancy, all lovely ! I also like Maria, Josephine and Susan.
Maria Josephine or Nancy Susan.
Other names
Adeline (Ada).
Jasmine
Lucinda
Rosina

RedDwarves · 07/10/2018 06:59

Dahlia - Love this, but only when pronounced dah-lee-ah. I think most people would pronounce it "day-lee-ah" though, which I hate.

Delilah - Sampson. Biblical whore. Nice enough name, but the connotations are too much for me.

Camille - No. Prefer Camilla, but we will have a Queen Camilla soon enough.

Rosaline - No. Sounds like it belongs on someone over 50.

Helana - Is this meant to be Helena? Not a fan, either way.

Lucile - Prefer the spelling Lucille, but still not a fan. Lucy is lovely, though.

Cecilia - Means "blind", so I'm not keen.

Heidi - No.

Nancy - No.

Frances - No.

Ophelia - Lovely.

Imogen - Lovely.

ThursdaysChildHasFarToGo · 07/10/2018 05:55

I love Ada!

Dahlia ✖️
Delilah ✖️
Camille ✖️
Rosaline ✖️
Helana ✖️
Lucile✖️
Cecilia ✖️
Heidi ✔️
Nancy✔️
Frances✖️
Ophelia✖️
Imogen✔️

Shadow1234 · 07/10/2018 03:16

I also think Ada is a lovely stand alone name.
From your other list I like Imogen.

Think Rosalie (pronounced rosa-lee (or just Rosa) sounds prettier than rosaline.

Other ideas: Amelie or Elodie

princ3ssconsuelabananahammock · 07/10/2018 00:23

Dahlia- no
Delilah- also no, sickly sweet
Camille- just don’t like but nothing wrong
Rosaline- nice but prefer just Rosa
Helana - Helena? But still no
Lucile- nice but prefer Lucia
Cecilia- I like it a lot
Heidi- nice
Nancy- nice
Frances- no
Ophelia- trying too hard
Imogen- I don’t get this name, so ugly to my ears
Ada- like it a lot

Schmoochypoos · 06/10/2018 23:03

I had Delilah, Nancy and Heidi all on my list and I think Josephine goes really well with a middle name for all of them

Iwillorderthefood · 06/10/2018 22:59

Dahlia - nope
Delilah- nope
Camille - beautiful
Rosaline- nope
Lucile - nope
Cecilia - yes
Heidi - yes
Nancy - awful
Frances - lovely
Ophelia - maybe
Imogen - ok

Edinburgh2012 · 06/10/2018 22:55

Hmm, mixed reviews all round. Me and DH are still on the search for more names to consider and have remarkably found the list for DC, any thoughts on:

Ines (worry to short)
Anais (concerned will always be pronounced wrong)
Valentine (Pronounced french way Val-en-teen)
Maria (DC2 has an M name and worry might sound to similar)
Claudia

Also thank god I have a while to decide because still miles away from a real shortlist Hmm

IIWY, with those names to work with, I would call her Frances Ada Josephine. Cecilia is nice too, as is Helena (not Helana).

ReginaPhalange89 · 06/10/2018 22:13

I really like Ada and I think Ada Josephine sounds great ! If Ada is your favourite you should go with it

Delilah - love it! Such a sweet name.. I know one , she's American and absolutely beautiful and the sweetest little girl .

Heidi & Imogen are both nice too but not my favourite from the list. Rosaline doesn't sound right to me. I prefer Rosie, Rose or even Rosalie

darkblu · 06/10/2018 20:48

Heidi, Nancy and Imogen nicest imo. Middle names, they are all fine but Josephine is probably my fave x

Katinkak8 · 06/10/2018 20:14

I think Ada is the nicest of your names and I think that Ada Josephine is absolutely beautiful!

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 06/10/2018 20:10

Also Neither Rte nor Slate Cecelia

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 06/10/2018 20:09

Slate
Dahlia
Delilah
Nancy
Lucille (Although I love Lucy)
Camille
Imogen
Ophelia. Who decided this was a good name. I can say about some names. Okay well ita not my thing but I can see why others would. However i don't the hype
over this one.

Rate
Heidi
Frances
Rosalie

Rate Helena
Slate Helana. That seems really haRd to say. Like it doesn't roll off the tongue. It's really strange how one tiny sound can make all the difference.

Sophronia · 06/10/2018 19:13

Helena is one of my favourite names, but I don’t like Helana at all.

Cecilia Josephine or Helena Susan would be nice.

Sophronia · 06/10/2018 18:53

Helena is one of my favourite names, but I don’t like Helana at all.

Cecilia Josephine or Helena Susan would be nice.

HenryInTheTunnel · 06/10/2018 18:45

Dahlia- reminds me of The Black Dahlia
Delilah - she'll have the song sung at her everywhere she goes. Actually both songs...
Camille - nice
Rosaline - nice
Helana - Helena is a more traditional spelling
Lucile - ok
Cecilia - another song one
Heidi - nice
Nancy- nice
Frances- nice
Ophelia - ok
Imogen - wanted this one myself

wildewillow · 06/10/2018 18:42

Dahlia - reminds me of the 'Black Dahlia' so no.
Delilah - YES! my favorite name EVER (also name of my dog so I can't use it)
Camille - lovely
Rosaline - also very lovely! Love a bit of Shakespeare.
Helana - prefer Helena or Helaina spelling
Lucille - not keen, very 50's housewife.
Cecelia - Love this! Nn I's use Cece
Heidi - love it but v popular at the mo if that bothers you
Nancy - my grandmas name so I love Nancy
Frances - I like but not nn frankie
Ophelia - No but great for a middle name
Imogen - a bit boring

Josephine as a middle name is great. Please don't lump a child with Maureen, they will be teased endlessly.

daisypond · 06/10/2018 18:40

Dahlia - OK
Delilah - awful
Camille - yes, but how will it be pronounced? French way or English?
Rosaline - yes
Helana - not spelled like this. Helena - yes.
Lucile - Ok but Lucille is better
Cecilia - yes
Heidi - no
Nancy - ok, but I'm personally not keen
Frances - yes
Ophelia - no
Imogen - I'm not keen

DramaAlpaca · 06/10/2018 18:32

If you love Ada go with that. Ada Josephine is perfect.

bridgetreilly · 06/10/2018 18:29

Helana would be at the very bottom of my list. She'll constantly be correcting people spelling it Helena. Because Helena is how it is spelled.
