For a boy - thoughts?

We initially thought Remi which is perhaps more masculine?? However when I realised that remy is a very old French name that appealed to me - a cool yet traditional name! To go with brother Louis. However baby coming in 2 weeks and having a bit of a wobble so thought I would test the MN water

I like it. There's a guy at my gym with that name and every time it's mentioned, people say 'like the footballer'. I'm not a football fan so wouldn't have made that connection.

Makes me think of the ear from the Disney film ratatouille

Love the film. Not the name

Singlenotsingle · 06/10/2018 08:04

I've got a nephew called Remy. I like it.

Yogagirl123 · 06/10/2018 08:02

I have only known a female Remy, always makes me think of brandy!

MissDai5y · 06/10/2018 07:56

X men fan?

My friend's brother called his son Remy after Gambit and I think it's a nice name. It's a real name, the characters real name is obscure enough at the moment that that's not normally the first thing to mind.

I'd be tempted to do it if I thought my child could pull it off (I think the genetic lottery will not allow for such a name for us).

Sophronia · 06/10/2018 07:32

I like it. It is a boys name.

newcupcake · 06/10/2018 07:31

Know a couple of Remy's , both boys , it's French and suits both of them

IvanMashPotatoIvanDoTheTwist · 06/10/2018 07:31

I've met a baby boy Remy. Such a sweet little boy, I like the name a lot

Eeevvvveee · 06/10/2018 07:30

I don't like it for a boy. Like pps have said, it is very feminine and a little odd. I like Romy for a girl, not that that helps.

LEMtheoriginal · 06/10/2018 07:20

I think it sounds quite feminine. My ndn is called remy. Lovely guy (straight) but hardly what id call manly - maybe that is prejudicing me though. Not being manly is fine btw

ChaosMoon · 06/10/2018 07:19

First thought - French?
Second thought - sounds very grown up for a baby
Third thought - scrap second thought, I like it.

WallisFrizz · 06/10/2018 07:19

Like it. Works for boy or girl.

PootrolliumJelly · 06/10/2018 07:19

Makes me think of

rheumy
ˈruːmi/Submit
adjective
(especially of the eyes) full of rheum; watery.
"she was small and wizened, with rheumy eyes and bad teeth"

But I am weird and I don't know how many people would think of that.
