So far we have
Cora
Leila
Cleo
Libby
Lydia
Lucy
Harriet
Clara
Penelope
Phoebe
Any thoughts? None of them seem like “the one” so I’d also love any suggestions

flyingpigs Flowers for your angel Lucy. I’m so happy you seem to like all of my choices! I absolutely love Heidi too but can’t use it for a couple of reasons unfortunately

Thank you LJFM2B. I think I’ve gone off Cleo and Cora now so I agree with your opinions. I really like Penny as a nickname - reminds me of the girl in inspector gadget!

Cora - personally not a fan (does make me think of the old chain smoker in eastenders)
Leila - i like this
Cleo - personally not a fan
Libby - i like this
Lydia - love this
Lucy - i like this
Harriet - love this
Clara - love this
Penelope - love this - think penny would gradually become her known by name
Phoebe - love this

Flyingpigs247 · 04/10/2018 09:53

Cora - I really like. I only know one (aged 3) and she's lovely.
Leila - Pronounced the same as Layla? I like and love the Leila spelling.
Cleo - Like this too. It's not too common.
Libby - I like but know quite a few. Some a short for Elizabeth and others just a name on its own.
Lydia - Pretty. It's one of those names that never really seems to date. I know a few of all ages from adult to pre school.
Lucy - One of my all time favourites. Again it's a name that never goes out of favour. I named my angel baby Lucy.
Harriet - Lovely classic name. I also love Hattie.
Clara - absolutely love this! This is the name I'd choose if I had another daughter. It's just so pretty and feminine.
Penelope - I like. Could be shortened to Penny or Nelly.
Phoebe - Another of my all time favourites.

Other names I'm currently loving....
Adeline
Elora
Rosanna
Emmeline
Heidi

regina I think you’re right about Freya and Leila sounding too rhyme-y. Do you not think the same about Freya and Phoebe?

My favourites are Harriet and Lucy, but I freely admit I like quite traditional names.

ReginaPhalange89 · 04/10/2018 05:52

Phoebe is my favourite girls name , have always loved it. Goes nicely with Freya too I think !

Freya and Leila sounds too rhyme-y so I'd avoid that one

I like Cora, Lydia and Lucy and love Cleo and Harriet!

Not keen on Clara or Penelope

RedDwarves · 03/10/2018 21:58

Lucy is the best name. I love it.

Phoebe is nice too.

I like Layla, but only this spelling, as it reminds me of the song and is more true to its original Arabic form.

Glumglowworm · 03/10/2018 20:36

Libby short for Elizabeth is my all time favourite name

I also like Harriet and Lydia

WaitroseCoffeeCostaCup · 03/10/2018 20:29

I really like Lydia, Lucy and Harriet

Love Phoebe

DancerOnIce · 03/10/2018 18:48

Thank you all! I really appreciate the opinions

We already have a Freya if that helps at all, and don’t want another name beginning with F

Does anyone call their daughter Liberty?

George Osborne did...

Tinty · 03/10/2018 14:24

Jenna

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 03/10/2018 14:11

Cora- old woman in eastenders
Leila- love, but very popular
Cleo- i loved this but my DH instantly said Renault.
Libby- v nice, dont think it has to be short for a longer name anymore
Lydia- nice
Lucy- nice, bit old fashioned now (in a less trendy way)
Harriet- hate! again old fashioned and twee
Clara- nice again popular
Penelope- my favourite, I wanted this but didnt like the inevitable Penny shortening
Phoebe- also a great name, was on my list

SoutineBellhop · 03/10/2018 13:52

Cora, by a mile. Clara as a runner-up.

MinaPaws · 03/10/2018 13:51

I'm surprised people don't like Clara. It's a beautiful sound, elegant and means clarity, which is a good thing. It's my favourite, followed by Lydia.

BertramKibbler · 03/10/2018 13:48

Go with Penelope. I have a Penelope (nn Nell)

Tinty · 03/10/2018 13:46

Astrid

tartanscot · 03/10/2018 13:44

Cora: not keen, sorry.
Leila: it's alright, bit meh.
Cleo: LOVE.
Libby: not keen on the name on it's own, I'd go with liberty.
Lydia: it feels outdated to me.
Lucy: meh, boring name.
Harriet: lovely name and like the nicknames associated.
Clara: not keen.
Penelope: really like it.
Phoebe: like it.

Icklepup · 03/10/2018 13:41

Alice
Eliza

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 03/10/2018 13:34

From your list, I like ;
Cleo
Libby ( Elizabeth, not Liberty)
Lucy
Harriet
Other suggestions ;
Emma
Heidi
Laura

DancerOnIce · 03/10/2018 13:23

Thank you all. Yes I do agree about Libby... I think it should be short for a longer name. But I don’t love Elizabeth or Olivia, and I prefer Libby to Liberty so I’m not sure I would call her Liberty.
