We’re having a boy and a girl... Yay!! We’ve ‘paired up’ a few names and would love to know your favourites, as you’ve been such a big help so far... Which is your fave boy’s name and girl’s to go with it? Thanks!

B: Dominic
G: Elodie, Florence, Imogen, Margot*, Penelope or Phoebe

B: Elias
G: Beatrix, Cecily, Felicity, Florence, Imogen, Margot, Penelope or Phoebe*

B: Elijah
G: Beatrix, Cecily, Felicity, Florence, Frances, Imogen, Margot, Penelope or Phoebe*

B: Sebastian
G: Beatrix, Cecily, Edith, Elodie, Felicity, Florence, Frances, Margot*, Penelope or Phoebe

B: Zachary
G: Beatrix*, Edith, Emmeline, Florence, Frances or Margot

*Too much with an older brother, Theo? I guess they would be Margot & Theodore officially, NNs Mari, Maggie, etc & Theo so is it not that bad? I think Maggie may be a stretch as a NN though? We’ve been trying to think of what possible shortened forms can come from the names we like and not getting much with Margot.

**Too many ee sounds together?

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
HerRoyalNotness · 29/09/2018 22:07

Sebastian and Florence are my favourites

Polkasq · 29/09/2018 22:05

Elias and Felicity
Elijah and Phoebe
Sebastian and Frances

BewareOfDragons · 29/09/2018 21:57

Sebastian and Phoebe are the best pair out of your choices imo.

GreenMeerkat · 29/09/2018 21:47

Elijah and Imogen

pixieloux · 29/09/2018 21:43

@WildCherryBlossom I can imagine going for one more and ending up with seven next time lol. We’re definitely doing that... I’ve talked DH into a “small pet” to use Elwood. Maybe we could get some fish lol.

I totally understand. Twins at the end = quite lot of childten. I've given some of the leftover names to pets 😁

pixieloux · 29/09/2018 21:37

@WildCherryBlossom Oh gosh, I think five is enough for us... This was supposed to be our fourth and final so we’ve already got a bonus baby lol.

I absolutely love Imogen. Phoebe and Margot.

I would add Gabriel and Raphael to your boys list (although Dominic and Sebastian are great names).

I'm thinking you have such a lot of amazing names to use that you may need to have more babies 😂

pixieloux · 29/09/2018 20:59

@bridgetreilly I know, someone pointed it out and it just got me thinking as I know I’m an over thinker lol. I also blame baby brain for missing out names on the list lol... Zachary & Imogen is also a possibility.

You definitely don't need to worry about them all having o's in their name. That is WAY over-thinking.

disappearingninepatch · 29/09/2018 17:02

You have great name on your lists and for your older DC.

Boys - I love Dominic, Elias, Sebastian and Elijah (I teach a lovely Elijah.)

Girls - Elodie, Penelope, Frances (my DGM's name) or Cecily (I love this name but it's in my address.)

Icklepup · 29/09/2018 16:50

Dominic and Florence

DaniC18 · 29/09/2018 14:50

Congratulations! I love your names for your DC. We have similar taste I think.
I like Elijah and Felicity best but also like the sound of Sebastian and Cecily together x

coffeekittens · 29/09/2018 14:45

Sebastian and Penelope definitely, gorgeous!

pixieloux · 29/09/2018 14:41

I feel bad that I didn’t include my daughters’ names in my OP lol... I only included Theo’s because of the concerns of it with Margot. It will be Aurora, Violet, Theo, ??? & ??? Their NNs are Rora & Letty.

In terms of popularity, this is how they all rank where we live: Dominic #131, Elias #281, Elijah #162, Sebastian #80, Zachary #197, Beatrix #873, Cecily doesn’t chart, Edith #249, Elodie #365, Emmeline doesn’t chart, Felicity #734, Frances #579, Imogen #289, Margot #396, Penelope #133 & Phoebe #137. Our children are #241, #156 & #365, to compare

I know a meg whose formal name is Margot...

LydiaLunch7 · 29/09/2018 14:21

Dominic is my favourite of the boys names by far. And then I'd go with Phoebe as the pair. With an older brother Theo, that would be a cool set of traditional but not overused names!

pixieloux · 29/09/2018 14:20

We could have Dominic & Beatrix, Cecily, Edith, Emmeline, Felicity & Frances too. I was just thinking, after having it pointed out to us, that maybe we shouldn’t have one child without the internal O in their name seeing as our three already do? I’ve gone all this time not noticing it though so I guess it’s nothing to worry about? I’m just an over thinker lol.

deptfordgirl · 29/09/2018 13:06

Zachary and Emmeline - gorgeous

bridgetreilly · 29/09/2018 12:44

Sorry, missed your post about the other girls!

bridgetreilly · 29/09/2018 12:43

My choices, in order:

Theo, Elijah and Felicity

Theo, Sebastian and Florence

Theo, Dominic and Phoebe

Theo, Zachary and Edith

Theo, Elias and Beatrix

Congratulations!

DramaAlpaca · 29/09/2018 12:11

I'd choose Dominic with either Imogen or Penelope.

LeeMiller · 29/09/2018 12:08

I think Theo and Margot are too much. The Margots I know by Margot and Go. Maggie, Greta, Mari are more obviously shortenings for Margaret.

I like all your choices except Cecily which I find extremely frilly, and Elodie which is too close to Letty. They're all pretty long so will inevitably get shortened - I'd avoid Imogen, Felicity and Phoebe for that reason. Dominic/Nic and Sebastian/Basti are nice but Dom and Seb are less so.
