We’re having a boy and a girl... Yay!! We’ve ‘paired up’ a few names and would love to know your favourites, as you’ve been such a big help so far... Which is your fave boy’s name and girl’s to go with it? Thanks!

B: Dominic
G: Elodie, Florence, Imogen, Margot*, Penelope or Phoebe

B: Elias
G: Beatrix, Cecily, Felicity, Florence, Imogen, Margot, Penelope or Phoebe*

B: Elijah
G: Beatrix, Cecily, Felicity, Florence, Frances, Imogen, Margot, Penelope or Phoebe*

B: Sebastian
G: Beatrix, Cecily, Edith, Elodie, Felicity, Florence, Frances, Margot*, Penelope or Phoebe

B: Zachary
G: Beatrix*, Edith, Emmeline, Florence, Frances or Margot

*Too much with an older brother, Theo? I guess they would be Margot & Theodore officially, NNs Mari, Maggie, etc & Theo so is it not that bad? I think Maggie may be a stretch as a NN though? We’ve been trying to think of what possible shortened forms can come from the names we like and not getting much with Margot.

**Too many ee sounds together?

@MrsFoxPlus4 ❤️

@Mummaluelae I still worry about Sebastian with Aurora despite my love for the name. I think Elodie and Penelope fit best with it too. We’ve narrowed our girl’s list down a lot since this post with a few more facing the chop too. Persephone was on our long list but it seemed too out there for us... I think she would be constantly correcting people.

As you have an aurora and violet, definitely Sebastian And either elodie or Penelope. Also have you thought about persephone?

MrsFoxPlus4 · 03/10/2018 08:37

You don’t need to be sorry, she was a beautiful little soul. Twins are amazing, enjoy every moment!

BikeRunSki · 03/10/2018 07:06

Dominic and Imogen

pixieloux · 03/10/2018 07:05

MrsFoxPlus4 Sorry for your loss, too ❤️

@MrsFoxPlus4 I didn’t really care as much with my older three but it’s something we want to avoid with these two... They are already going to share so much. I personally didn’t pick up on where Elodie is too close but I think Margot is a bit too rhyme-y with Theo.

MrsFoxPlus4 · 03/10/2018 04:26

Infact I have Layton, Romani, Everly & Stella.

Romani was unfortunately still born.

Don’t over think it choose what you simply like. Too many Os is a silly reason not to pick a name

MrsFoxPlus4 · 03/10/2018 04:23

When naming my girl girl twins It didn’t even cross my mind about their names matching. They aren’t the same person. And I don’t really care if Everly & Stella don’t go. I feel the same when naming any siblings

I like Elias, Elijah, Elodie, Beatrix & Margot. Our Stella was near a Margot

pixieloux · 02/10/2018 22:10

If Elodie is too close to Letty then would Cece/Cici be as potential NNs for Cecily/Felicity? Cece feels the most natural and to be honest desired for Cecily anyway.

I like Dominic and Penelope or Sebastian and Penelope.

pixieloux · 30/09/2018 13:26

@BewareOfDragons We’ve been trying to avoid an obvious nature name this time around... Well, not so much nature but we definitely want to avoid another flower or colour name (like Violet) really. We also decided against names ending in -a as they feel rhymey to me with Aurora.

DH wouldn’t go for Elspeth. Imogen is still on the list. We’ve gone through a TONNE of names and this is what we’ve got it down to lol.

BewareOfDragons · 30/09/2018 13:13

I didn't realise you had an Aurora and a Violet.

Linnea (Lin-nay-ah) would be a lovely girl's name to add to them, also a flower name. As is Jessamine.

Elspeth, Imogen are also very pretty.

I would definitely go slightly girlier than your list with those already in the house.

Still like Sebastian best for a boy.

Sungura · 30/09/2018 12:11

Elijah and Felicity

lovetherisingsun · 30/09/2018 11:59

What lovely names OP. Seb and Penelope for me :)

pixieloux · 30/09/2018 11:54

We’ve nixed Dominic & Elias... Dominic as I don’t love the NN Dom & Elias because we simply prefer Elijah. We’re still mulling over Sebastian with DD1’s name but do love it a lot.

For girls, we’ve nixed Elodie for sounding too close to Letty, Margot (sniff) because it’s too close to Theo & Phoebe because I don’t love it as much as our other choices. We’re also still mulling over a few other of the girls names but for nit picky reasons... I think we need to do that to get this down though. They are Edith, Emmeline, Felicity, Florence, Frances & Imogen which doesn’t leave many if we do nix them lol.

I like Elijah and Frances. Beautiful. Congratulations!

pixieloux · 30/09/2018 11:22

@Sessy19 Also, don’t be sorry for your opinion! I want honest ones - good or bad :)

OP posts:
pixieloux · 30/09/2018 11:05

I really thought out of our girl options, Edith and Frances would be thought of as the least delicate lol. I’ve seen Cecily described as too frilly - I don’t really get either end of the spectrum from it really. Cecilia is much more ‘frilly’, IMO.

I don’t really get it from Phoebe either and I’ve only ever met one so it seems more unusual to me... The names we like do seem to be far more popular in England however. That being said, I think DH likes it more than me... I think now we know the genders, it may be easier to narrow things down? We’re going to go through the list again in a bit and see if we can do that.

I guess, I understand Beatrix sounding a bit - harsher? because of the -X ending but DH likes that and also said no to Beatrice lol.

AnyaMoondial · 30/09/2018 07:35

Zachary and Florence

IdaBWells · 30/09/2018 07:10

I will be so jealous of you if you have a Dominic as it is my most favourite boys name in the world! Unfortunately DH didn’t feel the same way but we another lovely boys name instead. Felicity is fabulous. How on earth can Cecily or Phoebe be “indelicate”??? They are incredibly beautiful and classic.

Sessy19 · 30/09/2018 07:04

For your girls name, don’t use Beatrix, Phoebe or Cecily....your daughters have got really pretty names, and of your twins list, the three I mentioned are quite....indelicate?? They sound so grumpy and beige next to Aurora and Violet (sorry, but because the first girls have such beautiful names!)

Phoebe is really overdone in my neck of the woods...

kettleonplease · 30/09/2018 02:08

I would go for Sebastian or Zachary for boy, and Felicity, Beatrix or Emmeline for a girl as I feel they fit well with your other childrens names.

Congratulations!

starkid · 29/09/2018 23:30

I like Elijah and Cecily, or Sebastian and Cecily :) I like a lot of your names though. And congratulations on your news!!

pixieloux · 29/09/2018 22:45

So, do you think we should nix Elodie and Margot from our girls list? Any others that clash/don’t ‘go’ with our LOs’ names?

OP posts:
moredoll · 29/09/2018 22:10

Sebastian and Frances or Imogen
