DP is French, we'd like our children's first names to be French but easily pronounced/spelled in UK (live in UK). Have a few names in mind already, does anyone have any male/female suggestions?

My son is Emile, we love the name which we picked for family reasons. But at Drs appointments etc it is routinely pronounced Emily. On the other hand we live in a very multicultural part of Canada and most of the children a5 daycare etc have “unusual” names, so perhaps less of an issue than in the UK

Why would it? There are loads of names which have accents.

I considered calling dd Elodie cos I love it. French friends uniformly pulled a face and and said it was (for want of a better translation) a bit chavvy.
Ines and Agnès would be my alternatives.

I'm a bit confused by the accents you have placed on the names Elodie and Chloe.... For a start the e's on each name made a different sound. Could you clarify OP?

A very old fashioned name in France for a girl is Valerie. All easy to pronounce here

Noellie is my favourite French girl name. Not sure how it would work in English when read but should be easy after being told. I also know French children called Opal, Quentin, Clemence, Leopold, Emmeline, Gaspard, Victor, Anselme. Sorry muddled genders there but hopefully you’ll work them out!
