Opinions on the name?
What gender would you associate it with?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I know two cats and a teddy bear named Loki. The oldest cat is ten and predates the Marvel movies, but... still a cat's name.

WaitrosePigeon · 24/09/2018 22:50

Lochia? The blood you get post birth?

mumsastudent · 24/09/2018 22:46

loki lord of misrule...thinks: asking for trouble literally!

DameSquashalot · 24/09/2018 22:40

I know a dog called Loki. Always up to mischief.

CallMeRachel · 24/09/2018 22:39

Umm...male.
Large, white, German Shepherd Grin

NarcolepticOuchMouse · 24/09/2018 22:33

Great name for a dog 🐶

Trialsmum · 24/09/2018 22:22

Were not we’re 😡.

Trialsmum · 24/09/2018 22:22

Love it, but the mythology ruins it 😢. It’s still not as bad as the little girl I know who’s parents named her Isis (after the godess but she’s only 6 and ISIS we’re definitely common knowledge by then).

PrincessTwilightStoleMyToddler · 24/09/2018 22:20

I really really wouldn’t for the reasons pp have listed... and to the pp that mentioned Steiner schools my cousin was at one and knew a Beowulf, a Gravity and a Tomé (pronounced Tom-ay, apparently). I very much hope those were all nicknames...

iklboo · 24/09/2018 22:14

Bragi was all mine. Imagine my joy when Dean O'Gorman and Aidan Turner were cast in The Hobbit Grin

Cindersdonegood · 24/09/2018 22:12

@iklboo It was fab.
I did crush on Hodr and Bragi a little....

Thatstheendofmytether · 24/09/2018 22:04

Nope. Loki from mythology is not the 'misunderstood mischievous trickster' of the movies. It's like calling your child Lucifer exactly what I was thinking.

MaryandMichael · 24/09/2018 21:57

Reminds me of lota for washing your bits.

ViserionTheDragon · 24/09/2018 21:55

Agree that it's a cat's name. Don't do it!

iklboo · 24/09/2018 21:52

Did anyone ever watch The Almighty Johnson's? Loki was a prick. Though I loved that awful show

Me!! It was weirdly good in a WTF kind of way.

MissLadyM · 24/09/2018 21:51

🤣😂🤣

DragonMamma · 24/09/2018 21:46

Nightwatch999 · 24/09/2018 21:44

darkblu · 24/09/2018 21:37

dinosaurkisses · 24/09/2018 21:32

“Most of the posters on this name forum are sheltered and uptight and will only tolerate traditional British names” OR maybe they just think if you’re going to use a name from another culture, do your homework and make sure you know it’s connotations?
