Christine Lampard (and Frank) have just named their new baby Patricia Charlotte. Thoughts on the name? I thought it was refreshingly untrendy. His daughters with his first wife were Luna and Isla- obviously a Spanish connection to reflect their mum, but very typical of this decade, whereas Patricia really does seem a big change away from that. I had him down as a Peter Andre type (wife names the kids...I mean how else do you have Junior and Princess with wife 1, and Amelia and Theo with wife 2??!!) but googled it and apparently the baby is named after his late mum. Very sweet.

I'm a Patricia born 1960 (did work as a librarian at one stage!). I have always been called Paddy from day one except when for formal/legal reasons full name is required. Like it, it's a bit quirky.

I don’t hate it- better than being another Amelia/Emily/Olivia anyway.

I know a Patricia that goes by Paddie which I actually really like.

More seriously, Pat is Frank’s late mum’s name. She died in 2008 and from then until the end of his career every time he scored he looked upward and pointed to the sky in her memory.

Stereotypical 50s / 60s names like Patricia, Sheila, Linda, Keith, Graham, Nigel are due for a comeback.

Christine is from NI. There are lots of patricks and Patricia’s here. Patrick is the patron saint of Ireland. Suspect the name is after someone close to her.

My MIL was Patricia she didn't like it felt her sisters (Irene and Mavis) had the prettier names. I much preferred hers.

it is oldfashioned though but I think about the age we are going into becoming fashionable.

Don't like the name or any of the shorts for it. Nice that he wanted to honour his mum but I would have kept it as a middle name myself.

Their names are 'Of their time' though, doesn't mean they go for old fashioned names! Patti is cute. Ricky absolutely awful! Patricia wouldn't be my pick but I agree a lovely reason and as they all do, it will end up being 'her'. Congratulations to them!
