I like Rudyard, but the potential nickname Rudy is awful - it doesn't work in English, sounding like Rude-y!

@Cobblersandhogwash I hadn't thought about the possibility of Rudy! Rudy does seem a pretty cool nn and might compensate for the colonialist overtones. Just think of all the dub music you could play. 'Stop your messin' around...' 😎

It's a nay for me. Too many colonialist, imperialist connotations. Plus I bloody hate 'If' - Christ knows why everyone seems to like it so much.

That said, my auntie loves Kipling and swears I need to give him another chance. And I did love the Jungle Book.
