Juno or Margot?

Really love both as feel that both are spunky but elegant- don’t know which one I prefer though. Evangeline would be mn (honouring my mum) and definitely feel as if the first name should have some spunk to balance Evangeline out

Margot! I think Juno is a bit too trendy and too unisex sounding for my personal taste. They are different names. Margot sounds like an elegant little lady, Juno is a tomboy. Which feels most like the daughter you'd have? (I know you can't completely predict, but girls often follow their mums in some way).

deptfordgirl · 17/09/2018 11:31

Juno Evangeline is lovely

Aprilshowersnowastorm · 17/09/2018 10:59

Juno sounds like a member of Dexy's Midnight Runners.
And Margot is a name I picked for an miner's new breast/nipple some time ago!
So both a 'no' from me.

RedDwarves · 17/09/2018 10:57

Juno.

Juno is a brilliant name. Margot is not. Margot is maggoty.

NarcolepticOuchMouse · 17/09/2018 10:33

I'd not heard of Juno before and initially presumed it to be a boy's name. Just something you may want to consider, possibly not a bad thing.

Sunflower321 · 17/09/2018 10:25

Juno sounds more feminine.

I'd spell Margo without the t to avoid any confusion about pronunciation (unless in France)

HPLikecraft · 17/09/2018 10:13

I also have the old fuddy duddy twin set and pearls association with Margot. And thinks it's a horrible sounding word to boot.

I like Juno, though!

MadMaryBoddington · 16/09/2018 23:40

Margot.

Sleepykate · 16/09/2018 23:23

LOVE Margot! Actually I love both... Not very helpful, sorry...

Picknickers · 16/09/2018 23:18

Juno Evangeline souds better.

SleightOfMind · 16/09/2018 22:59

I went to school with a girl called Margot, nn Maggot.

She was punky though so it suited her.
She was whip smart, very tough and definitely not cute.

Sophronia · 16/09/2018 22:51

Juno Evangeline sounds lovely. Margot is nice but definitely having a moment.

Shadow1234 · 16/09/2018 22:03

Margot for me.

Viviolet · 16/09/2018 21:07

cosmoa really? What impression do they give you? Genuinely curious, I think it’s the no frills and o endings that make them spunky to me. Do you think of pearl wearing granny too?

Cosmoa · 16/09/2018 21:04

Haha spubky 😂 I meant spunky of course!

Cosmoa · 16/09/2018 21:04

Wouldn't class them both as spubky at all! Juno is far better imo. Don't like Margot...

CocoLoco87 · 16/09/2018 20:45

Trying to avoid all the spunk here... I prefer Juno but when I said it in my head it went d'you know Evangeline? like a question.

Momma22 · 16/09/2018 20:38

Margot

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 16/09/2018 20:37

I think Margot Evangeline sounds better than Juno Evangeline. Anyway I think Margot is a beautiful name and you should totally use it Smile

Sunflower321 · 16/09/2018 20:34

Juno!

Margot is harsh and unfeminine. I especially dislike it pronounced Mar-gott as it is in Germany etc.

Ca55andraMortmain · 16/09/2018 20:28

I have a 12 week old Juno and while I love her name, it's had quite a negative response from most people. A lot of folk have never heard the name before and a lot of people think it's a boy's name (possibly because of the o ending). It doesn't really bother me as such but it's a bit tiresome. Still think you should go with Juno though!

greendale17 · 16/09/2018 20:24

Juno

bangourvillagebesttimeever · 16/09/2018 20:17

In truth I am not a fan of either but I would choose Margot.... lovely classic name

Viviolet · 16/09/2018 20:12

DH is no help either- he’s umming and ahing every day like me

I have heard the Juno= do you know thing but to be honest I really don’t care Grin I just think every name has something
I also know Margot’s having a bit (a huge) moment but it’s a name that I’ve liked since I was very young so not sure about swiping it because of a fad
