Juno or Margot?

Really love both as feel that both are spunky but elegant- don’t know which one I prefer though. Evangeline would be mn (honouring my mum) and definitely feel as if the first name should have some spunk to balance Evangeline out

missmouse is it I’ve always been under the impression that it was mainly being feisty and determined rather than the sexual definition. Slightly embarrassed now

I love Margot, and Juno; but Margot mainly due to the Len, Con and Margot connections. Gorgeous names either way, OP!

Margo is horrendous, Juno is nice. Spunky is a very weird adjective to use!!!!

I love Margot but since Suicide Squad movie and Margot Robbie... the name is everywhere 🤨 unless you're a fan of her or the film in which case is a dead cert!!!!

Juno is also a film though, about a young pregnant girl??? Maybe??

I love Margot but had it vetoed because of spelling/pronunciation - and don't see how 'Margaux' helps in that regard!

Somewhat concerned at the popularity of Juno ;-)

Juno is better.
Can't believe so many people haven't heard of it.
Margot is having a moment but I don't think it's a particularly nice name either way.
Go for Juno.

Margot, although I have a 2 year old Margot so am completely bias. We get compliment after compliment on her name. I thought it may be a little marmite when we named her but it hasn't been the case at all. We've not had any problems with the pronunciation, with the -got ending. Brits seem more than able to recognise a silent T. I was excited to teach her to say 'the T is silent like Merlot' but actually haven't had to 😂

I love both, they were both on my list and Juno was top of dh’s. I ended up with a Josephine though. I think Margot Evangeline sounds slightly better though.

I had no idea that Margot was being revived! I think of it as being quite a classy, older lady's name.

I wonder if Margaret will make a comeback too.

Juno makes me think of that wonderful film rather than the Aeneid - but maybe I'm culturally illiterate.

I can never get past the portrayal of Juno in the Aeneid. She’s so spiteful and mean! I don’t like Margot much though, so, erm, Margot?

Margaux is much better than Margot. Makes the pronunciation obvious.

But I think Margo is even better in English speaking countries.

The Margaux spelling is more popular than Margot in France. Strange because it’s the wine originally I thought.

ivanmashpotato thank you very much!! At this moment I prefer Margot by a smidge. Wish I could save the other name (hoping it’s another DD) but it’d be very matchy- may need a cat

I know that Margot doesn’t make phonetic sense in English but to me the spelling Margo feels quite empty and just not quite right. I think most people in England know the name and use the French pronounciation

Both names are nice. I think when you give MN a choice between 2 most will slate their least preferred when if they met a young 'Juno' or 'Margot' in the street they'd think 'that's nice' and carry on with their day 🙄

Margot takes the edge for me personally, but I think they'd both be winners. I have spent the best part of the last 2 years almost exclusively at baby groups and haven't any met children with either name.

The spelling Margo makes more sense in English. Or do as the Scandinavians, Germans and pronounce it phonetically as Mar-gott.

I prefer Juno!

I prefer Juno. I just don't get the Margot fad, it's a fusty-sounding name.

I know an absolutely wonderful 2 year old Margot and have never known any negative reactions to her name at all, nor have I met any others. As far as I know she does not masquerade as a middle aged pearl clutcher and is definitely describe her as 'spunky' in the way you intended!

Margot for me every time 😊

Juno isn't a unisex name. It's a girl's name. How many men can you think of called Juno? Juno was a Roman Goddess.
