Amusing names stories

Reading another thread suggestions on here 2 names came up that reminded me of a story MIL used to tell me So I thought I would share and also ask if others have amusing stories about names. (I don't mean rude name suggestions but funny things around it)

MIL and FIL had their oldest son who was with his middle names named after Paternal and Maternal grandfathers (think something Like William Charles) 3 years later SIL arrived and plenty family and friends asked " So will you do the same for the girl?" (maternal and paternal grand mothers names) MIL replied...
" Well which would you rather ? Minnie Winnie or Winnie Minnie?"

SIL's middlename is Anne Grin

There's the fantastic story about a couple wanting to give their child a Welsh name, and they'd seen a place name that they liked on a sign. In the same vein as Brooklyn, India and Paris, they named their child Allanfa Dân.

Which is Welsh for Fire Exit.

My dentist is called Mark Clark. Goodness know what his parents were thinking....

I went once with my university boyfriend to open a student bank account. “So Mr Gray” they asked him, “What was your mother before she was Gray?”, “ Green” he said.

My mother knew a Mrs Berry. She said if her expected baby was a boy she’d call him Barry. However sense prevailed and she called him Garry

When my parents were trying to think of a girls name for my older sister (their first born) my Dad said to my Mum.. "I really like the name Sy-oh-ban" and my Mum was like "what?! How do you spell that"

He meant Siobhan 😂😂😂

(oh and once he realised it was pronounced 'Shevawn' he didn't like it anymore haha)

I loved the name Bianca (I’m Italian), and it was heading for the top of my girls name list like a rocket, when I was pregnant.

Then my SIL told me that DH’s surname means Blacksmith in their native language.

Making my DD effectively ‘White Blacksmith’ by name. Doh!

Could’ve thrown in Violet as a middle name to top it off, right? Grin
