Mickey as a nickname for a girl

What do you think?

Is it cute? Or a bit daft?

Any other ideas for a short name beginning with M? We’ve chosen Morvern which doesn’t lend itself to shortenings. It would be nice to have a cute name that we could call her by as well as her full name.

Horrible name.

I think Mickey is cute, so I'm surprised at the hate it's getting! But what about Mo, Moo or Moo-Moo as nicknames? Is it a nickname in the family, or one you'd expect her to use out and about (eg at school): in which case Moo-Moo probably isn't what you want!

I like a boyish nickname for a girl. We have a Harrie (harriet) and it really suits her, so I like Mickey. I like Michaela as a full name for it.

You know what Mickey is a euphemism for, right?

Michaela, Michelle, Michalina...all fine and you can use Mickey. Mickey by itself is stupid.

I like it better than Morvern, tbh.

How about Michaela Mickey for short

Zigazagazoo · 08/09/2018 13:00

Mo?

I would see what pet names evolve once you get to know her rather than choosing something not related to her actual name in advance.

Awful! 😨
