Thoughts for my girls?

I read this a few days ago and the names keep popping back into my head. How about Stella-Joy and Adelie-Kate. Then just straight to your surname? Has elements of both the family names but cut down a bit. It doesn't use Blaise but you could always add that as the middle name for both girls as it looks quite like a 'family name'. So Stella-Joy Blaise Mitchell and Adelie-Kate Blaise Mitchell?

Would you also consider names that sound hypenated, but aren't? Something like Mariella (has the Marie sound and also part of Stella, but is a name in it's own right). I can't think of quite the same for Adelie-Blaise unless you went for Annalise or Adeline, Adelaide etc.

These have the sound, but are a bit less complicated than a hyphen and would leave a bit more room for a middle name...so Mariella Joyce Mitchell maybe or Adeline Kathaleen Mitchell (nn Adelie). I do like Adelie as a name on its own as well. Really pretty and close enough to Adele and Adeline not to sound 'invented'.

Sorry to stray so far from your choices and do appreciate the name culture must be different in Texas to UK!

If so, I would go with Stella Marie Kathleen You can use the first two names as a double name without the hyphen, and then she can choose to use one or both when she's older. (It is a bit pathetic, but in the UK double barreled names, especially the less "classic" ones, are often thought of as lower class).

Stella-Marie Joyce Mitchell and
Adelie-Blaise Kathaleen Mitchell.

I don't like the hyphenated first names. I would go:
Stella then Marie or Joyce

Adelie sounds like it should be Adeline
Blaise is a boys name?
Kathaleen sounds like it should be Kathleen

I think Stella-Marie is lovely. Is Joyce a family name ?
I prefer Stella-Marie Joy Mitchell.

Of course, and the OP can certainly post here. But when her response to practically every opinion offered is, "Well, I'm from Texas and that's how we do it here," it does rather seem to be a waste of her and our time.

When your babies get to school, their names will be shortened for them. Even before that, by family, I'd wager. There's nothing wrong with choosing three names, but hyphenating the first names will not ensure they're called that. Your daughter Stella has a name that flows. That's good, whether anybody else likes it it or not. Your second daughter has been given, thus far, a name with pretty unpleasant rhythms. Adella Kathleen Blaise sounds tons better.

Also, you're from Texas and you want opinions from a UK forum? Why, exactly?

Because my honest opinion is that those are truly terrible names. But I won't tell you that if you're only looking for affirmations.

How about Blaise-Pascale Kathaleen-Daffodil?

I love Stella. Stella-marie sounds like a Nolan sister. I don't know how to pronounce the other name- Adele ee or Adele eye?

How about Stellamaris all one which is is the same as Stella - Marie...

If im being honest OP, they sound like Eastenders characters...and not just because of the surname. Especially Stella-Marie.

I think the double barrelled are too much and don't flow at all.

The middle names on top of the double barrelled names are too much in my opinion.

Stella-Marie Joyce Mitchell- this sounds like a very dated name. I love the name Marie and Stella is ok but as a double barrelled name plus Joyce...it sounds like a dated name in the way Sharon or Tracy are a bit dated.

Adelie-Blaise Kathaleen Mitchell- Adelie sounds made up and a bit 'cutesie'. I prefer Adela but it's not awful. Blaise is horrid. Kathleen is ok but again, with the double barrelled first name, it's too much.

I like Stella-Marie best it's a edgy but not too out there combo imo. I agree the double barrel plus mn and surname is a bit much x

I don't like double names as first names personally. I think Stella and Adelie are fine on there own (although I do automatically think of Stella Artois when I hear Stella, sorry!)

Never heard of blaise before either, not keen on that part either

Stella-Marie and and Adelie-Blaise, I like (autocorrect prefers Adeline).

Are Joyce and Kathaleen family names? I prefer Joy and Katherine as names but I don’t think it really matters and it is nice to have a family element.

I prefer both without the hyphen. Seems a little bit unnecessary to be double barrelled. Adore the name Stella

@moredoll I’m keeping the a in Kathaleen because it’s my mothers name but a lot of people don’t like the hyphens but they are a tradition in my family
