What do you think of that name? Alternatively, do you know of any other names that are somewhat similar? We like names that have a magical/fantasy-like quality to them and yet aren't too "out there" if that makes sense. Thanks!

Quite frumpy and so is Marcella (which is very much an older lady name in Ireland).

How about:
Jessamine
Millicent
Carmen
Estelle
Stella
Leonie
Lucille
Christabel
Anoushka
Saskia
Saffron
Sylvie
Sylvia
Elfrieda
Delphine
Linnea
Hazel - the hazel tree has magical associations in old British Isles culture.
Willow - same goes for the willow tree.
Lowenna
Daphne
Leontine
Eudora
Calista

It made me think of margarine. Some (well, many) of the other suggestions are much better I think.

It also made me think of Angelina Jolie's late mother. But I probably read too much celeb goss. I think it's a pretty name. If you feel it's too much, maybe simply Celine as a shorter version. That's a lovely name too.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 05/09/2018 09:49

I like Marceline (Marcie).

BombayThanksgiving · 05/09/2018 00:30

My middle name is Marcelle. I agree that Marceline just makes me think of Adventure Time.

SemperIdem · 05/09/2018 00:21

I just think of Angelina Jolie, it’s her mothers name. Never heard or seen it other than her.

Halfahunnerstillastunner · 04/09/2018 23:09

Marceline the vampire in Adventure Time is quite a cool character! I like it!

domythinkingforme · 04/09/2018 21:13

It's sweet

Seraphine is similar I think.

throughtheeyeofaneedle · 04/09/2018 21:08

Marceline is the birth place of Walt Disney - I think it's cute as a girls name 😃

Littlechocola · 04/09/2018 21:05

Beautiful

LeeMiller · 04/09/2018 15:54

Marcie is nice, I agree Marceline sounds a little like a product name and prefer Marcella.

Sabine, Célestine, Coraline, Adeline, Althea, Aurora, Guinevere, Gwendolyn, Rowena, Morwena, Odette, Clementine, Cassandra, Branwen, Vivienne, Seraphina.

MaryBoBary · 04/09/2018 15:34

I have never heard of that name before. I don’t dislike it but it almost doesn’t sound like a real name to me. What about Marcella (pronounced with an s sound rather than a ch)? I think it’s really pretty and love the nn Marcie.

MollyHuaCha · 04/09/2018 15:13

Enmeline?
