Pronouncing Aaron

I’m in the UK, in the suburban South, for reference.

How would you pronounce Aaron? Is it AH-run, or AIR-run?

I’m not bias in either direction, just interested to know. I like the name.

I know several Aarons here in Scotland who are all ah-ron (just to combat the PP who claimed it was the other way in Scotland! It's a big place!).

The only air-on I know is American.

Aaron is a Hebrew name, surely? Certainly the prophet is pronounced Air-ron. If you want Arran why not spell it Arran?

Glad someone brought up the Karen thing. I say Air-En, Kair-en and Shair-en as default. I am from elsewhere though.

Ah-ron is the default I think. Have only ever known one pronounced as air-on and thought is sounded odd. This is in Ireland.

@Joinourclub I think my Aunt Karen would staunchly disagree. Nobody pronounces Karen care-on.

It’s not definitely anything, as this thread has proved. The original Hebrew version had an h in it!
