I love the name Ceirios, which is welsh for cherry. Would have been DS name if he were a DD

Pepper123123 · 16/09/2018 01:27

My own name is Welsh. It's Nia (not worried about outing), which is becoming more popular now.

Pronounced the same as Leah.

I'm also looking for a Welsh name for my DD due in Feb. Like you, I struggle to find some I like. Cari is the only one on my list so far.

Presume anghariad is a typo. Angharad is a lovely name.
Also In Wales and know 2 girl Morgans (both 6) so it's not just a boys name in Wales. I think that's also lovely.

Celyn (pr. Kellin) is too much like Robyn, but you could call her Holly and use their photo as a Christmas card.

GRW · 03/09/2018 17:47

Not keen on Carys, Bethan or Seren.
I do like Gaenor. (Welsh form of Guinevere, sometimes anglicised as Gaynor)

MikeUniformMike · 02/09/2018 14:13

It is Angharad not Anghariad and Anwen not Anwyn.
Morgan is a boy's name in Wales.

Redteapot67 · 02/09/2018 03:40

If you like gender neutral type names (as Rowan and Morgan are)
How about Harper or drew or Ashley

I like nia tonight
