What are your thoughts on the name Adda?

Hi all, I'm expecting a baby girl in September and can't decide on a name. I would like something that will be connected to Poland as I am Polish. There is a Polish name Ada but pronounced completely different from English Ada. Very similar in pronunciation to Adda. Have you heard this name before? Is it nice or not really? What are your opinions please?

I also thought of the snake, sorry. If it wasn’t for that I’d like the name.

I love the name Ada. Why don't you use that? You can use the Polish pronunciation if you prefer. My dd has a name that is written the same but pronounced differently in 2 languages and it's never been a problem.

I met an Adda recently, and she was lovely! But, it's not a great one for use in England because of the snake connection. What else is on your list?

No sorry - sounds like the snake - adder.
Now Ada is fine. Could you use the english spelling, pronounce the name Adda at home and Ada at school etc.

It makes me think of the British snake, the Adder. I don't think it's nice in English, sorry.
