If i like Mia or Ellie...

What other names might I like? We don’t know what we are having but we have already decided on a name for a boy. My first choice for a girl is Elizabeth (Lizzie) but DH isn’t keen, and Mia or Ellie are the only two so far that he likes. I just think they’re a bit ‘safe’? Our ds has quite an unusual name, one syllable beginning with J. (Not revealing his name as we haven’t announced the pregnancy irl yet).

My daughter is called Mila (pronounced Meela) and her middle name is Rae.. other names that were on the list were..

Is it Elizabeth he dislikes, or Lizzie? What about Libby as a shortened form?

Elizabeth is strong classic name.

Mia and Ellie are trendy/faddy insubstantial names.(imo obviously)

So none of them 'risky' (the opposite of 'safe'?) but quite different I think.

I love Elizabeth myself.

Do you want strong classic or girly and fashionable?

Depending on taste I'd suggest either:

Helena or Alexandra.

or

Poppy or Milly

@EvaGraceMummy2015 I once heard of Mia and Cara for twins as it means My Love I think, which I thought was cute. Good luck!

Ellie could be short for something if you wanted to use a less popular option. Elara, Elena, Eleri, Elinor, Elishka, Elspeth...

All three names (Elizabeth, Mia, Ellie) are very safe imo. Nothing wrong with that at all, they're well known and no one will bat an eyelid. But definitely not out there or unusual.

Thank you all for your replies - even the sarcastic ones... ‘Elizabeth is the safest name imaginable’...maybe where you’re from but certainly not where I’m from Hmm
I will read your suggestions to dh - I’m hoping he will warm to Lizzie if I drop it into conversation now and again haha!

How about Emmeline, or Amelia? You could change both names to Mia or ellie
