Thoughts on our final 3

Just wondering what people's choices would be between these three for our ds due soon

Aaron Matthew
Felix Joseph
Leo Thomas

Don't have any concerns with Aaron but Leo seems very popular at the moment, not that that would totally put us off. When we have mentioned Felix to a few friends and family a few have said it's just a cat name. Most of the others like it and we like it a lot.

Aarón is a bit plain to me, but I know of a little boy called Aaron. He suits the name and his Mum says she likes it as it can't be shortened, and she gets lots of positivity about the name.

I love Felix. I think people do associate with the cat, but they'd soon loose that association when they got to know him. I know of a little Felix, it's just the loveliest name for a baby. It works well on a teenager too.

I love LOVE Leo and Leonardo is a top contender for my little boy. However the popularity of Leo does put me off it. I just think he'll be one of a few in his class, I don't want my child to be Leo R all the way through school.

OkPedro · 28/08/2018 01:09

I couldn't use Aaron if there was even a slight chance someone would call him Air un/in
I've only heard one person call their son Air un.. I think Arran like the Aran Islands sounds much nicer

A pp said Felix is cute
I don't think your adult son will appreciate a cute name
At least give him the option to use a non cute name if you give Felix as a first name

Goostacean · 28/08/2018 00:38

I’d go for Felix. Leo is very popular currently (unfortunately, as it’s on my list for hypothetical DS2) and I don’t like names with varied pronounciation personally.

Picknickers · 27/08/2018 23:19

Felix Joseph is great.

OutPinked · 27/08/2018 19:51

I love Felix but DP vetoed due to cat food... it’s definitely my favourite out of the three though.

Aries456 · 27/08/2018 18:15

I love Felix and want it for #3 but my husband says it is a cat name, and that as our daughter is Tabitha, there are too many cat names going on! I tried to point out it is an ancient name (including 4 Popes called Felix I believe i read!!) but to no avail...

Belindabauer · 25/08/2018 15:29

I like Matthew best.
Then Felix.

AnyaMoondial · 25/08/2018 14:07

Felix Joseph. Perfect.

AnElderlyLadyOfMediumHeight · 25/08/2018 13:28

Oh FFS! Thereabouts!!!

AnElderlyLadyOfMediumHeight · 25/08/2018 13:28

I like them all. Think Leo Thomas just beats Aaron Matthew (and surely everyone knows Aaron is pronounced Air-un (or theirabouts), at least in English?)

MorrisDancingViv · 25/08/2018 12:29

I like Aaron but would probably go for Aaron Thomas. Felix is fine. Not crazy about Leo

ER1212 · 25/08/2018 12:27

Thanks everyone, I think Felix is our favourite, we are cat people and do have a cat but I'm sure everyone would get used to the little one called that, it's not like we'd be naming him Fluffy 😂. We'll keep the three in mind till he's born I think and make sure we're happy when we've seen him.

In order:
Felix
Leo
Aaron

Loopytiles · 25/08/2018 12:15

Matthew is best name of those!

Felix = cats
Leo = Tony Blair
Aaron too American.

Dani18 · 25/08/2018 12:13

I like Felix Joseph best. Felix is a cat food brand but that wouldn't be my first thought x

MikeUniformMike · 25/08/2018 11:58

I know 3 Aarons, all of then say it as Arrun

ReginaPhalange89 · 25/08/2018 11:17

I actually like them all.

If you really like Felix I'd go with it. Yes it's associated with cats, but if you name him that then eventually people will forget about the Cat thing, and won't be able to see him as anything other than Felix. I think it's cute, personally !

Some of my in-laws didn't like our girls name but we still went ahead with it and she completely suits it, I'm so glad I didn't change my mind .

MrsMolehillMountain · 25/08/2018 10:51

Aaron Matthew

Or even better, Matthew Aaron

BertrandRussell · 25/08/2018 10:29

"Not keen on Aaron. Too much like Darren, Sharon and Karen in sound."

I rest my case about pronounciation.

Sophronia · 25/08/2018 10:28

I like Aaron Matthew best.

Peachbubble · 25/08/2018 10:22

Felix or Leo, probably Leo

Slartybartfast · 25/08/2018 10:18

do you like Leon?

AtticaRose · 25/08/2018 10:18

Felix or Leo for me.

Slartybartfast · 25/08/2018 10:17

although they could both be names for cats Grin

MikeUniformMike · 25/08/2018 10:17

I actually like Darren, Karen and Sharon.
