Liberty, Georgia, Ditte or Vivien Smith ?

Which name out of these four would you go for to go with Smith? Im torn with going with something unusual given the plain last name or sticking with something traditional.

Name with the most votes wins!

Thanks in advance!

Vivien
Georgia
Ditte
Liberty

In that order. Love Vivien.

I really dont like danish girl names. Many end in uh. I think they all sound like mud. Dit-uh, Mett-uh, Nynn-uh. Apologies to any Danes on the thread. I like lots of other things about Denmark and danish but not names.

redexpat · 21/08/2018 16:26

I like Georgia. Classic.

Ditte is Danish and my grandma's name. English version is Dorothy. Liberty does sound american although generally an old latin/french name. We are english lol x

But go for whatever your gut is telling you because it's your baby and it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks!
Congratulations Flowers

Georgia

pippra · 21/08/2018 16:08

It's Danish, my grandma's name. English version is Dorothy xxx

Ditte but I'd spell it Dita so that others could pronounce it easier.
Vivien is my next favourite though I'm not keen.
Liberty to me sounds a tad chavvy (sorry)
Georgia Smith is too common.
If I had the surname Smith, I'd go for a more unusual forename

In order of preference
Vivienne (prefer this spelling!)
Liberty
Georgia (though if you’d consider Georgina or Georgette that would immediately leap to the top)
Ditte

Citylivingwithdogs · 21/08/2018 15:59

I like Liberty and Georgia but probably would go for Georgia.

Greeneyedgeek83 · 21/08/2018 15:56

Georgia

Enko · 21/08/2018 15:44

sadly I have to say " works best" is Vivien but the nicest it Ditte. I wouldn't worry too much about the match with the surname to be honest.

TatianaLarina · 21/08/2018 15:43

Ditte is Danish - was originally dim of Dorothy but it’s a stand alone name.

Harebellmeadow · 21/08/2018 15:36

Do you mean Ditte as in Dita von Teese? I dont think its a proper name. “Ditte” is also Berlin slang for “this”, so nothing rude, but if you have any German connections dont use it as its used to make fun of the Berlin estuary accent.

TatianaLarina · 21/08/2018 15:34

Deeta is how it’s pronounced.

PinkAvocado · 21/08/2018 15:33

Liberty Smith sounds lovely.

Georgia is ok but not as nice as Liberty.

Viv Smith doesn’t sound great.

Ditte Smith sounds too abrupt.

CocoLoco87 · 21/08/2018 15:30

Liberty! Libby Smith sounds lovely.
I don't think I'd know how to say Ditte. Deet?

MrsTerryPratchett · 21/08/2018 15:28

They are very American. Are you Americans?

TatianaLarina · 21/08/2018 15:27

Vivian is awful I don’t know why people favour it on here.

I’d choose Georgia from that list, although I’m not keen on it.

MalachisMum1 · 21/08/2018 15:25

I like Georgia best. That seems to flow best with Smith

TheLovelyOtherDinosaur · 21/08/2018 15:15

Georgia

butlerswharf · 21/08/2018 15:15
