Camille or Felicity?

Which name do you prefer as a sibling for Vivienne? With Camille we live in England so would go with the English pronounciation (Kah-meel) but nickname would be Cami so as the French pronounce Kah-mee. I love Felicity but struggle to find a nice nickname. Thanks in advance!

Camille. Not keen on Felicity and don't like Flick. Fliss/Flissy is ok.

Cuhmeel and Kahmeel sound pretty indistinguishable to me. We must be interpreting Kahmeel differently.

I prefer Felicity, because Cami reminds me of underwear - camisole or cami knickers. This may just be me.

I have a Felicity and her friends often call her Fliss/y , Floss/y , Fifi . She doesn't like being called Flick

I know a Felicity who goes by Fliss.

I think it's very pretty and much prefer to Camille

I think Vivienne and Felicity sounds much nicer

That’s weird because it’s a pretty standard pronunciation in UK.

Absolute nonsense. Camille in the U.K. is pronounced as in Camilla - ie Cuhmeel. Or if the person is actually French, Caameel. Kahmeel is one of those embarrassing mistakes that British who don’t speak languages make.

Camille is the French version of the Latin Camilla/us. In Spain it’s Camila, in E.Europe it’s often spelt with a K.

I’m struggling to see how Camille could be pronounced any other way than that the OP suggested?
I think Camille goes better with Vivienne but they are both lovely.

That’s weird because it’s a pretty standard pronunciation in UK. My son has a name that exists in French and English with same spelling but different pronunciation. Similarly Camille is not a French name. It’s just a name pronounced different,y in different languages.

Never heard Camille pronounced Kahmeel, ever.

It’s a French name and Kahmeel doesn’t correspond either to the French pronunciation of Camille or the English pronunciation of Camilla.

Cami would be pronounced as in camel in French.

My sister’s name is Felicity and she shortens it to Lissa.
Of the 2 I prefer Camille.
