Final decision on triplet names please?

Hello,

It's our final decision (maybe?) on our triplet boy names,
please help me decide which ones you like the best. Suggestions or thoughts are very appreciated. Opinions are gladly received. Our final list is;

Alexander, Edmund and Theodore
Augustus, Edmund and Theodore
Augustus, Alexander and Theodore
Stephen, Edmund and Theodore
or Stephen, Alexander/Augustus and Theodore

We keep struggling with these names indeed, so please help. I would like to know your opinions and thoughts. Which ones are nicer? I'm very open to any suggestions and ideas. You can give us your honest views please. (We don't choose Edward instead of Edmund because we have Edward in our social circle. Also Augustus, but I somehow still can't drop off this name.)

Feel free to choose or suggest.
Thank you so much!

I would avoid using the same first initial, Augustus and Alexander. They are likely to be In The same classes and with the same DoB and first initial it could cause confusion. I love all the names except Stephen, which does not sit well with the others.

Not*

rebelrosie12 · 15/08/2018 13:38

I love the first suggestion you have OP. Bit a big fan of Stephen.

Srilli · 15/08/2018 13:36

Alexander Edmund and Theodore lovely names!!!

Sophronia · 15/08/2018 13:33

I’m not keen on Theodore, but Alexander, Edmund and Stephen would be great.

minmooch · 15/08/2018 13:11

How about Alexander, Theodore and Stefan?

JLG19 · 15/08/2018 09:21

Alexander, Edmund and Theodore.

Congratulations OP. When are you due?

WaxOnFeckOff · 15/08/2018 09:06

Edgar, Alexander and Theo
Edgar, Alastair and Theo
Edgar, Austin and Theo

Alastair is the Scottish/Gaelic firm of Alexander and Austin is a form of Augustus and I like Edgar better than Edmund. :) Good luck.

GlacierMints · 15/08/2018 08:58

Oh come on! Got to be Huey, Dewey and Louie surely?

Augustus, Alexander and Theodore

Of your list this is the best as Edmund is a terrible name. Have you not read Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe (spiteful nasty mean)? Watched Blackadder? It is a name associated with unpleasantness and meanness.

Augustus is a fantastic name. As is Theodore.

Edward is much nicer and fits better with your list - tbh I'd bite the bullet notwithstanding another Edward in your social circle whoever it is. Social circles rarely stay static (nephews/nieces/cousins - grow up, move away, do their own thing/ elders die/friends change) and it is unlikely to be a severe issue -there are plenty of people in the world with the same name! You can cope short term by nicknames if you have to or adding a surname or middle intial to distinguish if it's a big problem (Edward S type thing).

Joinourclub · 15/08/2018 08:53

Alvin, Simon, Theodore?

ReginaPhalange89 · 15/08/2018 08:52

I'm really not keen on Edmund or Augustus tbh . I think Alexander and Theodore are much 'cooler' and I think in comparison , Edmund is a bit old/not cool. Like when they're older he'll feel like he's got a rubbish name compared to the other 2.... Maybe just me ?

I'm not totally keen on Stephen either . But I do prefer it to Augustus/Edmund.

Is Sebastian a no go ? I like....

Alexander, Theodore & Sebastian
Alexander, Theodore & Christopher
Alexander, Theodore & Benjamin
Alexander, Theodore & Jenson??

Love the

Angus

suggestion. Same number of syllables and letters!

Frosty6611 · 15/08/2018 08:46

Alexander , Edmund and Theodore

Zoflorabore · 15/08/2018 08:44

I like Steven spelt this way too.

From your names already i think Sebastian would go lovely with Alexander and Theodore.

Fridgedooropen · 15/08/2018 08:25

Alexander, Edmund and Theodore. Definitely.

pipilangstrumpf · 15/08/2018 08:23

Augustus, Edmund and Stephen

All great classic easy to say/spell underused names!

There are thousands of little Theos and Alexes already

TyrionLannistersShadow · 15/08/2018 08:18

Alexander, Edmund and Theodore, would be my choice too, they're lovely. I'm not a fan of either Stephen or Augustus, Augustus immediately makes me think of Augustus Gloop from Charlie and The chocolate factory and Stephen is a bit 70s for me.

Jollyholliday · 15/08/2018 08:15

Stephen, Alexander anc Theodore

BigSandyBalls2015 · 15/08/2018 08:14

If Augustus ended up a little on the plump side as an older child/teen it could be rather awkward for him.

81Byerley · 15/08/2018 08:13

I like Augustus Edmund and Theodore

Enidblyton1 · 15/08/2018 08:08

I’d do Stephen, Alexander and Edmund.
It may just be because you’ve put Theodore last, but I can’t stop thinking of the chipmunks.

BikeRunSki · 15/08/2018 08:07

I’d choose the Stephen combo! Stephen is definitely due a comeback. I’d be wary of potentially having Ted and Ned though. Or Ted/Ned/Ed.

Quangot · 15/08/2018 08:01

Alexander, Edmund and Theodore

Angus
Henry
Edwin

17caterpillars1mouse · 15/08/2018 08:01

Oh I want to go offlist haha

My choice would be Stephen (as I remember it was important to your DH, Alexander and Edmund. - out of interest, why isnt that a combination on the list.

If sticking to the list and choosing my favourites i'd go for Alexander, Edmund and Theodore.

If you DH really wants Stephen though and your having 3 boys you should really use it :)

tubularfells · 15/08/2018 07:49

Congratulations!

Alexander, Edmund and Theodore for me.

I love Augustus but if you're going to shorten then I like the initials to stay the same... Alex, Ed(die) and Theo.
