Help...
I’m changing my babies name he is 11 months!! Has anyone done this before? I feel guilty for doing it but it took me the full 42 days to decide on the name in the first place and I’m still not 100%
I’ve been going over and over in my head for months since I registered him about changing it. Now my husband has said if I want to we can, but just need to do it and stop talking about it. I’m not sure what’s stopping me maybe guilt or what other people think... I don’t know. I’m also finding it hard to move away from his current name even tho I’m clearly not 100% happy with it.

So he has both his grandads (both my dads names) as sadly they have passed both young too. One had just passed before he was born, another reason why I think I found it hard to make choice. Both of them wouldn’t be a first name option. I wouldn’t even know which one to put first as wouldn’t like to take preference.

What would you change it to? Or what's his middle name ? Might be an easier transition . I'm not keen on it to be honest but then different tastes 🤷‍♀️, my boys have old biblical names

Monday55 did she regret changing? Must have been harder at 2 years?

I’m so confused as what to do just think I worry more for him...
I want him to love his name.
I know children can be mean sometimes.
If only I could ask him what he would like!!!

Well a little girl once replied “what’s his real name” when I told her Nanny his name giggling. Again very lighthearted and innocent but I felt for him and worried for him when he is school age. There have been a couple of other incidences too x

A friend of mine changed name after 2yrs but she put the first name as a middle name so that those used to the name can carry on. Guy isn't a bad name and is well known too.

What's there to pick on? Confused

Mimishell · 14/08/2018 18:51

Because his name is “Guy” I feel less confusing as would still use it as would refer to him as my little guy etc ...

It’s Guy...
which originally I thought was cute and lovely , original too “my little guy”
I still love it but worry when he is older that he may not love it as much and could be picked upon.

Doesn't he know and recognise his name at 11 months? It could be confusing for him.

What is his current name, what dont you like about it ? Do you have another name in mind?
