When he said classic he meant more ‘a name in general usage’ not an ancient name.

Ie for a boy he likes David!

Erin is his top choice but I don’t really like it.

I think the majority the suggestions in your list don't class as classic. I would say Lucy is about the only 'classic' name on there. If your dp doesn't like suggestions so far, what does he suggest?

I wouldn't say any of the names on your list were classic - except Lucy, and Charlotte, but that's quite long.
