Persephone, Beatrix or.....?

We’ve just found out dc3 is a girl and obviously all I can think about now is names.

We have two boys called Rufus and Felix, I don’t mind names not ‘matching’ but it gives you an idea of what we like. I prefer names that aren’t too popular. If dc3 had been another boy I’d have been pushing for the name Magnus.

I like Beatrix and Diana, dh likes Persephone, Jemima and Penelope. We’ve got a few months to go but I don’t feel like anything is really clicking for me yet so very open to suggestions. (Also I may still be in shock that it’s a girl!)

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

@peppersprayfirstapologiselater I hadn't thought of that! Maybe I'll do Diana Camilla Catherine and go full on Royal Grin

I love Jemima!
Don't do Diana Camilla will you😂

TheCag · 09/08/2018 12:02

Dh likes Phillipa too but really doesn't go with our surname. Yes, he would be very happy with a daughter named Percy!

I love Hera and Juno, both added to the list. @atticarose, now I've gone Latin with two names I do feel I ought to with the third! The Greek options are throwing me Smile. I love Minerva and Camilla but dh isn't into them.

I'm really feeling Diana at the moment. Classic, not used too much, good meaning.

Jemima & Diana are lovely but I think Persephone is a bit OTT

daisypond · 09/08/2018 11:57

I think Diana is great. Beatrix and Penelope are nice too. Not sure about Beatrix alongside Felix. Beatrice? Not keen on Persephone and Jemima.

Jessbow · 09/08/2018 11:53

Beatrix and Felix collide with the X
Beatrice would work better.

Philippa ? Felicity?

AtticaRose · 09/08/2018 11:39

Oops, Fabian should have been Fabia, of course...

AtticaRose · 09/08/2018 11:38

You have a very Roman theme to your names! To run with that briefly...

Celia
Cecelia
Claudia
Cornelia
Livia
Aurelia
Julia
Emilia
Alba
Augusta
Cassia
Donna
Fabian
Flavia
Octavia
Sabina

Plus Roman mythology:

Diana
Minerva
Aurora
Camilla
Dido
Elissa
Juno
Silvia
Lavinia
Luna

Ah. Does he want a daughter called Percy or Seph (we know one of each)? Nobody at school is likely to call her the whole thing.

Lancelottie · 09/08/2018 11:22

Hera? Helen? Rosa?

I wouldn't go for Beatrix with Felix.

We know two Persephones, and DS was at one point in a year group with four Jemimas, but that sort of weird cluster is just one of those things you can't foresee.

TheCag · 09/08/2018 11:22

@sexnotgender Persephone isn’t my favourite either but dh has worn me down on it over the years Grin

Persephone and Diana are both stunning.

userabcname · 09/08/2018 11:14

I love Persephone and Penelope. You may also like: Tabitha, Verity, Flora, Agnes, Dorothy, Matilda, Ariadne, Arabella, Hermione.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 09/08/2018 11:12

I like Diana, it's lovely, and under used.
Diana Penelope has a nice ring to it !

sexnotgender · 09/08/2018 11:06

Persephone is dreadful! Sorry Blush
Penelope is lovely and is on my list. Jemima is ok, Jem as a nn is nice.

Verbena87 · 09/08/2018 11:06

Beatrix or Jemima.

Or...
Letitia
Seren
Inez
Annis
Amoret

WildCherryBlossom · 09/08/2018 11:03

There are some pretty names there. I think Jemima fits best with your boys' names. But, as you say, that's not essential. I haven't met a little Jemima for ages actually.

ReginaPhalange89 · 09/08/2018 11:02

Out of those names I only like Penelope, sorry. I like nn of bee if you you were to go with Beatrix but not overly keen on full name.

What about Morven, Mirren, Genevieve, Delia.... (Not overly keen on all of these either haha just some suggestions for less common names )
