Persephone, Beatrix or.....?

We’ve just found out dc3 is a girl and obviously all I can think about now is names.

We have two boys called Rufus and Felix, I don’t mind names not ‘matching’ but it gives you an idea of what we like. I prefer names that aren’t too popular. If dc3 had been another boy I’d have been pushing for the name Magnus.

I like Beatrix and Diana, dh likes Persephone, Jemima and Penelope. We’ve got a few months to go but I don’t feel like anything is really clicking for me yet so very open to suggestions. (Also I may still be in shock that it’s a girl!)

Seriously? I defended the OP when she felt posters including you were attacking her. Indeed posters commented how odd your posts were. I have said nothing on this thread even remotely abusive. If you were offended by something I said you could have had the courage to commenf rather than report.

Then Duck who has her own personal beef decided to hop on try and continue some beef from another thread.

Between the two of you you have totally ruined this poor OP’s thread. You in particular have been horribly rude to her.

No you haven't. You have never explained why you felt the need to say "Lexie" was a chav name, but only the meaning of what chav means. Which isn't really helpful as everyone knows what it refers too.

As I have said I have no grievance with you. I just don't think it was ok to say a name was a chav name. Even stranger that you won't stand by the fact you did.

It’s unkind to say names are snobby, wannabe posh, pretentious, try hard etc, but people say this all the time on here.

The OP in question started another thread asking posters what they thought of the name, many made the same comment as me so she chose something else. Clear now?

She is Olympia Leto Beatrix and just occasionally I write her name out in full just to see it, because I love it so.

That is amazingly cool! My kids have classical names too but they are very 'safe' ones. A decade or two ago it seemed like if your kids weren't called Jack/Sam/Evie/Ellie you were considered some kind of weirdo! Good to see people going for interesting names.

That isn't true. I have disagreed with you but this is not personal. I have poster previously regarding people saying certain names are chavvy and that it's unkind.

It's not my grievance Tats. I just don't like seeing posters being upset when someone refers to a potential name for their dc as chavvy. It upsets a lot of posters and has done for a long time.

I love all of these names. :) I'll throw it out there that we have a little Olympia 'Polly', which you might like. She is Olympia Leto Beatrix and just occasionally I write her name out in full just to see it, because I love it so.

We also have an Embla, which was the name of the first woman in Norse mythology - I like that it's easily pronounced, unusual and yet it has a strong history behind it.
