Last call for help! Evangeline or Violet?

After taking into account all the comments have decided to let Alexa go (and let my love for the nn Lexie go towards a cat or something XD). Now need to choose between these names so your opinions would be great

Violet. Evangeline has too high a risk of being shortened, which takes away from it's prettyness.

Evangelina could lend itself to Nina as a shortening, but not Evangeline.

I prefer Violet. I like it Evangeline but it it very evangelical.

I think it depends on the shortening of the names for me. I only know one Evangeline (18) but I know roughly twelvety billion Evie’s, Eve’s, Eva’s and Ava’s.

I think I’d have to really love Violet if I was going to use it. The older ones I’ve met are all called Vi which I’m not keen on but would like Letty.

Evangeline is such a beautiful feminine name, I love the nn's too. Not keen on Violet more of a "harsh" name, and reminds me of that spoilt brat from Charlie and The Chocolate Factory haha!

I love both! I do think Violet is getting more popular though, and if you're after something a little more unique Evangeline would be the better bet. Plus I absolutely love names beginning with E with that V sound. One of my absolute favourite names of all time being Evelina!

Why not have both and use one as a middle name?

Evangeline. Violet is nice but in my mind it’s a cute name (like I find all flower names) so if you want elegant it has to be Evangeline.

Violet is fine but the other two names are much nicer.
