Anna or Annabel?

I know we could use Annabel with Anna for short but I feel that both names have a very different feel to them ! Middle name will be Elizabeth or Charlotte.

My DD2 is Anna Elizabeth, so I would have to go with that!

Popsicle30 · 07/08/2018 22:31

Me and DH were between these two names. I preferred Anna and he liked Annabel as well as Anna.

We decided on Anna and so pleased we did. It’s a beautiful, classic and pretty name and people always remark on it being a lovely name.

It’s the bel/belle bit for me and I’m just not a fan. I wouldn’t have liked her being referred to as Belle. If I had to go with it though I’d definitely choose the Annabel spelling.

Anna Charlotte flows better

RedDwarves · 07/08/2018 22:20

Anna.

I have never met an Annabel I liked. It has tainted the name for me.

RosyPP · 07/08/2018 19:43

Anna is perfect - timeless, elegant, international

Annabel a bit try hard I think, like a fake double-barrelled surname. Apparently the Queen vetoed it for Princess Beatrice because it is “too yuppy” Grin

Screamingeels · 07/08/2018 17:42

We have an Annabel, it has plenty of diminutive potential only one we don't get is Belle. Somewhat irritatingly this proper (in my eyes) spelling is in decline and is now being overtaken by Annabelle which i agree is way too frilly.

I think Anna is a great kick arse name!

Annabel is a variation of Amabel meaning loveable. (I may have been somewhat hormonal when we chose names).

Lucylookingforhelp · 07/08/2018 17:30

With your middle names I’d go for Anna but without taking them into consideration I’d have to say Annabel as Anna doesn’t really have much to it in my opinion

Sophronia · 07/08/2018 03:48

I like Anna Charlotte

Needmorewine · 06/08/2018 22:37

DH is v pleased as supports his preference for Anna! I must admit as a name it has really grown on me. I can just imagine a little chubby toddler named Anna now 😂 Based on this we are more or less decided she will be Anna Elizabeth or Anna Charlotte!

Anna is so pretty

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 06/08/2018 21:52

Annabel.

Dumbledora · 06/08/2018 21:42

Anna.
Mind you, I am rather biased as it's my name too!

17caterpillars1mouse · 06/08/2018 21:40

I prefer Annabel as long as it's not spelt Annabelle which I find way too fussy

ReginaPhalange89 · 06/08/2018 21:26

I prefer Anna !

Greeneyedgeek83 · 06/08/2018 20:48

Prefer Anna. I did like Annabel but I just see the creepy doll when I hear it now.

AppleScoop · 06/08/2018 20:11

Annabel. Pretty, classic and classy. Anna seems a little plainer and, um, perhaps humdrum in comparison, I think.

MadameJosephine · 06/08/2018 20:01

I prefer Anna, don’t know why but I’ve never really liked Annabel.

how about Annaliese?

AtticaRose · 06/08/2018 19:50

I prefer Anna, but both are very nice.

MikeUniformMike · 06/08/2018 19:49

I prefer Anna, but Annabel is nice too. If you are planning to use Anna as a day-to-day name then just call her Anna.
I also like Ann and Annie. Again, with the name you use to go on BC.
I'm not keen on Annabelle.

daisypond · 06/08/2018 19:46

I prefer Anna.

butlerswharf · 06/08/2018 19:45

Anna is so much better.

AudreyBillingham · 06/08/2018 19:45

Anna. Much more classic and classy.

Icklepup · 06/08/2018 19:41
