Neither isn’t an option but I won’t be offended if you hate both! Wink

John Eric is fine.

Quangot · 05/08/2018 10:15

Eric

RuthW · 05/08/2018 08:56

Eric. It would have been my daughter's name if she was a boy 21 years ago.

Jillyjollyjandy · 05/08/2018 07:48

Johnny

JulianOfNorwich · 05/08/2018 07:33

Johnny!
I'm like you- my son, brother, dad and granddad are/ were all called John- although my dad was known as Jack.
Only very occasionally causes confusion- sometimes have to use their surnames as well in conversation for clarification.. but it's no biggie! All the best men in my life are Johns( except DS2).

LaPufalina · 05/08/2018 07:27

Johnny, it's lovely!

MadMaryBoddington · 05/08/2018 07:11

John.

Gacapa · 05/08/2018 00:54

My son is Johnny. He certainly does not have a terrible time at school. There are tonnes of famous Johnnys. Funny, I don’t recall people going round calling Johnny Depp a condom. Or Cash, or Rotten, or Marr, or Knoxville, or Borrell, or Vegas. Etc. It’s a cool as fuck rock n roll name. Grin

Kokeshi123 · 05/08/2018 00:42

John--let him decide if he wants to be Johnny or not.

Picknickers · 04/08/2018 23:44

Johnny. John Eric is great.

moredoll · 04/08/2018 23:13

Johnny. 100%

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 04/08/2018 22:36

John Eric is very nice, but I prefer Eric.

RedDwarves · 04/08/2018 22:24

John Eric nn Johnny.

SomeKnobend · 04/08/2018 21:49

Johnny is a condom. He'd have a horrible time at school. I'm not a big fan of Eric, but at least it's not a bloody condom.

SequinsOnEverything · 04/08/2018 21:43

Johnny

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 04/08/2018 21:39

Johnny

Sophronia · 04/08/2018 21:34

John Eric is great.

brodiee · 04/08/2018 21:09

Jonathan nn Johnny?

daisypond · 04/08/2018 19:56

I prefer Eric to Johnny, but prefer John to both. John shortened to Johnny or Jack as a diminutive for a child would be my choice.

Lemmmonade · 04/08/2018 10:41

I love John - classic and less common these days. My brother, dad, grandpa and great-grandfather are /were all Kenneths, so to avoid confusion they're Kenny, dad's middle name, Ken, and Kenneth respectively and on mail they use their initials eg KB Bloggs, KS Bloggs etc. No problems!

kenandbarbie · 04/08/2018 10:37

Jack either? We have the same in our family lots of boys with same first name but nicknames so it's not confusing.

kenandbarbie · 04/08/2018 10:36

Johnny is lovely and unusual in a good way. John Eric is a great idea!!

GetThisBabyOut · 04/08/2018 10:24

His full name will be John Eric (surname) on BC.

DH is a John, his dad was a John, etc. Several generations back. I agreed on John on BC but don’t want to actually just call him John as it’s so confusing! We’d settled on Johnny but are now considering actually calling him Eric for all non-official stuff.

I’m so used to Johnny I can’t make up my mind now!
