What can Immy be a nickname for

I've got two children already Albie (full name Albert) and Edie (Eden) and I'm expecting twins a boy and a girl. We've already decided to name the boy Otto and so I'd like to keep on the theme of vowel names and have fallen in love with the name Immy however I'm not keen on Imogen. Could we just name her Immy or is there any other suitable longer names?

What about Emmy or Emme? Too close to Edie, perhaps?

Maybe Camille? Could get Immy at a stretch out of that.

@Abouttoblow yes I had originally just wanted Immy it's mostly my mother in law putting us off as she keeps saying it's not a name and we'll have to give her a 'proper name' too.

I quite like the idea of just Immy as it means last born and I'm pretty sure we'll be having no more after these too

You want to call your child Immy....so call her Immy.
I do not understand this whole name, nickname, middle name thing.
You have a child, you want to call the child something, just do it.

I have an Otto who is just Otto and i get loads of compliments on his name. He gets called Otty.
I’d use Immy as a nickname for Imogen but if you’re happy to get creative it could be short for something like Miriam

@LorelaiVictoriaGilmore yes, I think I'm leaning towards Ismene too

I really cannot believe I hadn't seen it before. I have always prefer Otis to Otto anyway, what are your thoughts?

@IVflytrap oh my gosh I hadn't thought of the foot stool no way am I calling him Ottoman and it's honestly making me rethink Otto now too

I think Imogen is a lovely name. I know a little girl of that name who is known as "Immy".

Ismene (ancient Greek, pronounced Is-mee-nee)
Ismay (Medieval English)
Irma (German origin, means "universal")
Ismenia (might be related to Yasmin, or from the Greek Ismene)
Iman (Arabic, means "faith")

Can't tell if you're joking, but don't call your son Ottoman: it's either an empire or a footstool, but it's not a name for a person.

@justdoit87 my husbands grandfather was just called Otto and so we're currently sticking with just Otto, however with all the other children going by nickname I'm considering Ottoman

@SleepWarrior I hadn't considered that option and my mums name is Marie so we could potentially honour her within it

I'd not previously heard of or thought of the name Imelda and I do think it sounds very pretty and also not overly common which is also appealing to me

What's Otto short for, Ottoman? All the Immys I have known are nicknames for Imran.
