Lydia

Athena (MN seem to think poster shop, but I'm too young to know about it and my DMum doesn't remember)

Amanda

Alison

Alice (not sure if too similar to 'a lice')

Delaney (too surnamey?)

Dora

Alexandra

Freya (reminds you of fraying a thread? Perhaps she will go round the party and ruin everyone's dress?)

Alison but probably spelt Alicen would be my favorite. Classic but unusual now. Least keen on Delaney in case it was shortened to Deli but also bcos some accents would drag out the middle ayyy iyswim. Love Lydia Alice and Alexandra.

Lydia- beautiful

Athena- beautiful

Amanda- nice if it's not shortened.

Alison- a mother in her 50s

Alice- nice but a tad bland in comparison to some of the others

Delaney- horrible!

Dora- nice but I'd choose Theodora and shorten it to Dora

Alexandra- beautiful

Freya- ok but not to my taste

Athena. I totally remember the poster shop, but that doesn't matter a jot! If I met a baby called that, she would be all I'd think of when I heard the name in the future.

I have a sister called Lydia - she was called Flydia all throughout her school years and changed to her middle name at 16

I have an Alice. No one has EVER said " a lice ". We have the occasional "who the f is..." but it's rare and short lived.

Mostly tends to be the "wonderland" stuff which is really sweet.

Yes its surnamey but so is Harper, and I've never heard anyone moan about that.

I love Lydia! Easily my favourite from your list, the rest of which are not my kinds of name at all. Except Alexandra which is ok. But Lydia is way better.

Athena- very very lovely name.
Poster shop was DECADES ago.
I immediately thought of Athena Onassis- though actually I think she spelled it Athina.

Lydia - Okay, a little boring.

Athena - Quite a nice name. Sounds a bit hipster-ish to me, a little try-hard.

Amanda - Dated.

Alison - Really dated.

Alice - Just a bit plain, but it is a name that would stand the test of time.

Delaney - yeah, too surname like, and a bit made-up sounding.

Dora - LOVE this name, and the child would probably like the Dora the Explorer link.

Alexandra - Nice classic name with a lot of versatility.

Freya - A bit too girly for my liking.

I don’t like Lydia. It’s old fashioned, like a faceless aunt name.
Athena quite unusual if you’re not Greek
Amanda and Alison old fashioned
Alice Dora Alexandra and Freya- love! Alice the most
Delaney - Reminds me of the restaurant

Amanda would be very refreshing.
Lydia is gorgeous without being too over used.
Daleny is fab. Yes its surnamey but so is Harper, and I've never heard anyone moan about that.
Alice. Meh
Dora. No opinion really
Athena see above
Alexandra. Gorgeous. A name that will grow with her.
Freya. I wouldn't worry about the Frayed things connection. Well put it this way. There will be 100s of kids out there being teased about freyed dresses because Freyas are everywhere.

Alexandra is lovely. Alice is my 2nd favourite followed by Lydia though it may be ruined by 'Lydia Clamydia'!

Amanda and Alison are too dated, to my generation. for my liking. Not yet due a revival.

Athena, Alice and Dora are ok. Not names I'd choose, but perfectly fine names.

Delaney does sound too surnamey to me, sorry.

Also missed Freya - I’m really not keen. I know a couple of adult Freya’s (so their parents must have been ahead of the curve) and they don’t inspire me to like it more.

Lydia - forever ruined when I was in my teens by a friend who called her sister “Lydia Chlamydia”

Athena - went to school with one, I like it. Prefer Artemis or Antigone though.

Alice - I also read a lice. Prefer the Welsh, Alys spelling for that reason.

Alexandra - you can’t go wrong. Classic with so many nickname options.

Amanda - bland and dated

Alison - dated

Dora - The Explorer. Cute nickname for Theodora though.

Delaney - dreadful.
