Just that really. OH suggested it and it's got the vibe I like but I'm worried the game is still too popular. Grateful for other similar suggestions.

Zelda the witch from Terrahawks, I remember, I loved that show! I don't think anyone under 35 would remember the witch or who were not into cult tv! It should be fine as a name these days

Zelina?
A witch in Once Upon a Time but still a lovely name

MadameJosephine · 01/08/2018 20:10

Just makes me think of the game

How about Zita?

forevernotyoung · 01/08/2018 19:47

Zeltia? Went to school with one. Don't know what it means but it's a pretty sounding name.

daisypond · 01/08/2018 19:39

Never heard of the video game. I only think of Zelda Fitzgerald.
Xenia?

IsadoraQuagmire · 01/08/2018 12:58

Zelda Fitzgerald is the only person I associate with the name.

noseoftralee · 01/08/2018 09:49

First thought Sabrina. I’m 37.

PersianCatLady · 01/08/2018 09:36

For me, Zelda’s a princess’ name from a popular/cult gaming series. Link is her sidekick
Me too.

I used to love playing Legend Of Zelda games.

Did you know that it has been 19 years since The Ocarina Of Time was released??

Mousefunky · 01/08/2018 09:31

It’s the princess in the game the Legend of Zelda. My 8 year old DS loves it as does my best friend otherwise I wouldn’t have known that Grin. Robin Williams loved the game and named his DD after it.

I like it.

BikeRunSki · 01/08/2018 06:33

Zilla (Cornish)
Xanthe
Zara
Keziah

FurryDice · 01/08/2018 06:21

Is it the Z you like? How about zera? Zoe?

Aintnothingbutaheartache · 01/08/2018 02:08

Bloody hell no! You can’t go Zelda! Does no one remember Terrahawks!?
Tbh I don’t really like names starting with Z.
Apropos of a previous thread, I love the name Marnie

Elphabaisnotwicked · 01/08/2018 02:05

I love it! Also think of Zelda Fitzgerald, but I think it’s a fantastic name!

AnyaMoondial · 01/08/2018 01:52

I think it’s lovely

AnExcellentUsername · 31/07/2018 23:58

Nah, just makes me think of Princess Zelda 😉

notacooldad · 31/07/2018 23:54

I didn't know their was a witch called Zelda and I'm over 40!

I think it's a nice name. I've only come across two. One was a student social worker and another was a young woman who was travelling.

Joeybee · 31/07/2018 23:49

Zelda is definitely associated with the video game, I couldn't use it for that, it'd be like calling baby Yoshi or something. However I know there are people who find this name to be completely useable. Robin Williams' daughter is called Zelda.

Picknickers · 31/07/2018 23:20

Thank you. I worry about it sounding hard too. Any similar names please?

I only know Aunt Zelda out of Elmer the Elephant....

ToothTrauma · 31/07/2018 07:24

No, if it’s associated with anything now it’s the game. I love it! I love the game too Grin

FurryDice · 31/07/2018 07:17

OK, so being of that age I did watch Terrahawks back in the 80s but gad forgotten how misogynistic as fuck Zelda was. Fucking hell! The ld ladies are gross, right, male writers?

FurryDice · 31/07/2018 07:14

Oh yeah, Terrahawks

FurryDice · 31/07/2018 07:13

Not witchy for me, but just very hard sounding.

NicoAndTheNiners · 31/07/2018 07:08

I’m also early 40s and have never heard of the witch thing.

AuntieStella · 31/07/2018 06:48

I'm in my 50s, and there was a one in the Guides with me, so that's what I thought of first (not games it's appeared in since).

But it is a very well known game, so I expect a lot of people will think of that.

Lovely name, also Zerelda (Malory Towers)
