What do you think of the name Pearl? Our surname is soooo hard to match a nice girls name to.

Much prefer Coral.
What about Marina.

oldmother44 · 26/08/2018 18:21

I have a Pearl. She's Pearl Betty aged 5. We don't know any others at any age.

PortSouth · 31/07/2018 07:12

Lulu is Pearl in Arabic so maybe that could be an alternative?

I know a Diamond, she's an older lady and awesome. I also know a Ruby, Rupa (Silver in Hindi) & Sonali (Golden in Hindi)

CharleyBlack · 30/07/2018 23:09

Pearl Scallop/Mussel/Ammonite!?

I do love the name though

Picknickers · 30/07/2018 23:01

Pearl Cockle? Pearl Whelk? Pearl Razor-Clam? I wouldn't.

kenandbarbie · 30/07/2018 18:23

Pearl Winkle?

beachmamma · 30/07/2018 17:57

Have you got a second favourite ?

beachmamma · 30/07/2018 17:57

Pearl Mussel 😬 - I don't know Op , my worry would be brats bullying her for her name

holycityzoo · 30/07/2018 17:47

Pearl crab?
Pearl lobster?

I love the name by the way but I now need to know the surname!!Grin

chickacharlie · 30/07/2018 17:41

Not fisher- it's another mollusc!

Most kids would immediately reference that to Pearl Krabs the spoilt girl whale from Spongebob Squarepants imo. Thats immediately what I thought of but the show might be starting to go out of trend so younger kids might not know about it. Your choice though if you like it.

SquitMcJit · 30/07/2018 17:27

Pearl Fisher?

chickacharlie · 30/07/2018 16:52

1st bday- under the sea theme
2nd bday- the little mermaid theme

And repeat haha

OP posts:
chickacharlie · 30/07/2018 16:51

Yeah there would be a definite fishy theme but I'd have to confidently own it Grin

OP posts:
RavenWings · 30/07/2018 16:51

I like it but not if you've an obviously sea themed surname.

Pearl Shell or something... Grin

FilledSoda · 30/07/2018 16:46

I love that name , I can't think what your surname could be.
Would people even realise there was a fishy theme?

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 30/07/2018 16:42

Love Pearl- on my list.

sorry not Maggie or Peggy.

TheGhostOfYou · 30/07/2018 16:41

Pearl is lovely

OhNoGroken · 30/07/2018 15:58

Pearl is a diminuative of Margaret - what about that? And then you could choose Pearl or Maggie/Peggy etc

scolotti · 30/07/2018 15:56

Not if your surname is related to fish.

skankingpiglet · 30/07/2018 15:54

Lovely name! It seems to be rising in popularity around my area though, which may or may not bother you?

Moonshine86 · 30/07/2018 15:41

Named my daughter pearl so love it!

beachmamma · 30/07/2018 15:39

Oh 🤭

SayNoToCarrots · 30/07/2018 15:38

How about Beryl if you want to avoid the fish connotations 😂

chickacharlie · 30/07/2018 15:38

@beachmamma It's not far off a clam Blush
