Lexton... ?

My other half has suggested Lexton for a boys name.
Initially i was a stern NO... but its growing on me and i'm wondering what others think. I knew a lovely gentleman called Lexton, so i think that's where he got it from and i think that's why its growing on me.

Yes. I agree. Spelling it, explaining it, having people desperate to shorten it because it's a mouthful. It's not what I'd choose for my child

As someone with an unusual name, I hate it when people try for the most out there names. It makes for an embarrassing childhood, awkward introductions and lots of problems in the work environment when people spell it all sorts of ways (or use the closest ‘normal’ name).

Lexton is fine. But it sounds a little bit like it’s made up/smashing a few names together. Nothing wrong with that, but NEVER ask MN for an opinion on ‘unusual’ names...it makes the cardigans keel over and you’ll get semi-abusive retorts!

I'm all for not-heard-before names. Though my first thought with this one was that maybe you liked the nn Lex and had come up with a longer version just to allow you to use it! Sorry...
