Imminently due with baby 3, which we think is a girl (didn’t ask at scan, but I saw the lines and certainly no other bits floating around down there!). I love the name Honey, which I wasn’t brave enough to use the last 2 times but this time round I just can’t think of anything else I want to use. My OH is not keen at all, but he hasn’t put forward any suggestions. Help!

I have a guinea pig called Honey? She is REALLY sweet though!

PinkFluffyFairy · 31/07/2018 10:10

Dulcie sounds like something to do with fannys to me ConfusedGrin

BaconCrispsGone · 31/07/2018 08:36

Melissa nickname honey?

Mousefunky · 30/07/2018 15:31

It’s a bit of a stripper name. I also hate it being used as a pet name so it would be awful if it were my first name... would worry about it being shortened to the dreaded Hun as well.

WillowRose79 · 30/07/2018 14:36

I love Honey but I really love Marnie!

FASH84 · 30/07/2018 13:56

Can you imagine a grown up professional called honey? Call her something else and call her honey as a nick name

I like it a lot I think it's beautiful. I also teach a lovely one!

SuitedandBooted · 26/07/2018 18:25

It's cute for a baby, but for an adult? No.

Would you like to be called that? Picture yourself going into a work meeting with clients "Good morning everyone, I'm Honey"

Are you happy to do that - I wouldn't be!

If you like shortish feminine names, how about Chloe or Sadie?

susurration · 26/07/2018 12:51

I think if you want it to go with your other two names a name ending in a ey or ie sound would fit.

Other suggestions for that:
Poppy
Polly
Holly
Molly
Millie
Darcey
Dulcie
Bonnie
Bessie
Betsy
Hetty

Are you pronouncing esme with an eee or ay sound? If ay, then then I think esme, marnie and Dulcie match enough but have slightly different end sounds to not be overwhelming

MariaMadita · 26/07/2018 12:43

I like Honor/Honora nn Honey. You might also like Harmony, Hermione or Honesty (nn Honey).

There's also Holiday, which I genuinely love. But it's more of a guilty pleasure name...

Theweasleytwins · 26/07/2018 10:04

Watch the How I Met Your Mother episode with Katy Perry in

thethoughtfox · 26/07/2018 09:59

I loved it too but your girl will spend her life time with men making innuendo and assumptions about her being easy and 'getting some honey' You will be handicapping your daughter.

LoveInTokyo · 26/07/2018 09:57

Don't do it, OP.

Esme and Marnie are OK. Honey is a stripper name.

Surely you can think of something else?

Kokeshi123 · 26/07/2018 01:56

Honey honey boo boo, stick your head in poo poo... sorry, but that is what she would get at school!

Bea and Dulcie are both nice.

moredoll · 26/07/2018 01:32

It's a little girl's name. She might want to be a judge when she grows up.

MikeUniformMike · 25/07/2018 23:06

Honey Kinney and Betty Kitten. His DS got off lightly.

RedDwarves · 25/07/2018 22:57

He has a daughter called Honey too. Betty Kitten is bloody awful.

Picknickers · 25/07/2018 22:46

Jonathan Ross's daughter is Betty Kitten not Honey.

Youranus · 25/07/2018 22:17

Bonnie?

Pleasedontdrawonyoursister · 25/07/2018 22:08

Beatrice (Bea) would be an option but my close friend has one already. I am keen on Dulcie though.

Some people are being rude, but I did ask for it I guess Wink. Thank you for your honesty, I still love it but I do appreciate it might not suit as they grow older. I didn’t know about honey boo boo...wtf!!

When I was pg and knew I was having a girl I wanted to call her Honey Beatrice. Honey Bea. Confused

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 25/07/2018 20:46

Also: Jonathan Ross’ daughter is called Honey Kitten (I think)

eye roll

RavenWings · 25/07/2018 20:44

It sounds like a stripper or a child of Jamie Oliver. I think it's ridiculous. Lovely pet name for someone but give her something with a bit of class for when she's grown up.
