Unable to decide between Eva, Nina, Olivia and Daisy.

Title says it all really. Out of these four names which do you like the most? What do they each make you think of:
Eva
Nina
Olivia
Daisy

For me, Daisy is very different from the rest. It's pretty but a bit cutesy, like Poppy, Maisy, Ruby, Molly. The Daisy I know gets shortened to 'Daiz, which I really dislike.

Eva and Oliva are very popular but also beautiful, classic, class neutral and elegant. Easy diminutives (Evie, Livie, Vivi, Oli). Similar to Eleanor, Emily, Isabel, Sophie.

Nina is pretty, solid, and very international - a bit like Anna. I like the nn Ninette.

I do feel Daisy sort of dictates the type of female you wish to bring up. It is feminine in a rather cutesy way somehow.
I know two Daisy’s however who are both really nice, independent young women.

Definitely Nina.
Eva and Olivia are very bland and overdone.
Daisy is infantile.

Also OP I feel you about DP vetoing Isadora and Dorothea. The same has happened to me with my favourite names. But what makes me feel better is that I want him to love the name as much as I do -- we're in this together!

I think they are all lovely! Nina is my top pick now for this bump, but it is a family name. I wouldn't worry that much about popularity -- for DD1, I was put off a few names I loved because they were too popular and now I know (in London) two little Lunas, two Persephones, two Anais's and not a single Emily or Isabella! You may pick one name because it's unique to find that everyone else has done the same thing. Pick what you love and has meaning for you.

And by the way, the siren thing does not really bother me about Nina. It is so meaningless. I think people will find ways to make fun of any name -- or something else about a person. If you actually think it sounds like a siren, then obviously it's not for you, but if you like the name . . .

Nina. Lovely and not as common as Olivia and Eva.

Livia is a less common option if you like Olivia?

I think there is a risk that the name Daisy does not suit all girls / women.

My best friend is Nina.

She gets siren noises made constantly, all through school and now work. She loathes it.

I have an Eva...I don't know any other Eva's, i know a lot of Evie's or Ava's. I don't think Eva is common at all - not in my area anyway. Nina is nice too.

I know lots of Evies, Avas etc but no Evas. Simple and beautiful.

I like Nina best.

Eva is a lovely name but so many under 5’s called Eva/Evie/Ava where I live, if popularity bothers you.

Olivia is also very popular here too.

Order of my preference:
Daisy (cute and classic)
Eva (classy but not ridiculously popular)
Olivia (cute but I hear too many Olivia's)
Nina (nice but something had to be last! Grin)

I love Daisy. It is such a cheerful name. I still haven't met one and I know gazillions of pre schoolers so it can't be that popular everywhere.

If you do pick a common name like Eva, Olivia etc then please think how it will sound with the first letter of your surname. My DCs have Evie P, Eva S, Eva A etc in their classes and amongst the KS1 kids they seem to exclusively go by their names with the surname letter differentiaters added. Poor Evie P is always known as “Eviepee”.

Eva - I have never liked it and think Eve/Evie is much nicer.
Nina - I like it
Olivia - Gorgeous but there are so many of them it's now dull
Daisy - I like it.

Which one sounds and looks best with your surname?

Eva and Olivia are very overused. Nina is ok but prefer Daisy.

Round my way Eva is virtually unheard of. Ava however is popular along with Evie.

Eva & Nina are both lovely
