Struggling for dd2 name

GKite · 21/07/2018 11:33

I've got 16 days left of my pregnancy and hate every name possible.
OHs grandad passed away just as I found out I was pregnant so would like to use his name some how, he was Ian but OH not keen for Iana and doesn't know how to say Ianina so doesn't like that either.
Help??

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
GKite · 22/07/2018 08:51

I know I'm making it even harder, I just think it's a really nice sentiment. He adored being a great grandad to Amelia and I know he would be over the moon at having a part of his name live on
And as we aren't having any more children this would just be so fitting imo

Your partner wants to use Ian as a middle name for a girl?!? Seriously? Sorry to be frank, but I think it's hideous Confused

I'm not a fan of Blair in the slightest, but if you like it, what about Penelope Blair?

I think Penelope and Amelia go well together.

BringBiscuits · 22/07/2018 07:48

I’d park the idea of honouring Her Grandad. It’s hard enough to find a name you like without trying to find a girls name incorporating a man’s name too.

Fivelittleduckies · 22/07/2018 07:47

I think Penelope really suits your other children’s names - and they all have beautiful names

StrawberryCat · 22/07/2018 07:43

I personally think you're making a really hard task even harder by trying to honour grandad! You don't like any names to start with so trying to also use his name is going to make it even more stressful!

Amelia and Leon are lovely names.

What about:
Marissa
Tessa
Connie
Lynette
Harriet
Jasmine
Jade
Larissa
Macey
Maeve
Deanna
Olive
Orla
Sinead
Fiona
Florence
Juliet
Ria
Skye
Lydia
Erica
Briony
Evie
Evelyn
Peony
Thea
Tabitha
Joni

Good luck!!

CocoLoco87 · 22/07/2018 06:33

I do love Penelope!

CocoLoco87 · 22/07/2018 06:33

Nevaeh is heaven backwards. Could use that to honour grandad Ian. Unless you're not religious... what about Zoe, Shea (pronounced shay), Willow, Saffron, Clara, Luna. I think Blair Ian is quite a boyish name!

Movablefeast · 22/07/2018 06:16

Love your kids' names OP and Penelope fits really well with the other two.

crazydoglady6867 · 22/07/2018 06:15

I say this every time there is a what name thread but I love the name Audrey nothing to do with Ian but I bet he would have liked that name too.😄

LesleyA · 22/07/2018 06:10

Phillipa
Sienna
Ava
Cara
Lara

Rainbowqueeen · 22/07/2018 05:59

Penelope is a gorgeous name.

What about Penelope Nia.

I like Blair too just wouldn’t pair it with Ian or she will spend or whole life with people saying your parents really wanted a boy didn’t they!!

GKite · 22/07/2018 05:55

My partner has friends called Lois and zara so that's a no 😂
Don't like tiana sorry. Not keen on isla just because my head can't automatically say it properly Blush

I struggled with names too! My little one is called Lois, I loved the name Zara too

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 21/07/2018 17:29

How about Tiana, T-ian-a, you've still got the Ian in the middle.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 21/07/2018 17:27

Isla - eye-la.

TenThousandSpoons · 21/07/2018 17:24

Yes Blair Ian is definitely too boyish. Would you want to have the middle name Ian?
Penelope Nia
Isla Blair
Although if you don’t want to choose a popular name Isla is top 20 now I think.

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 21/07/2018 15:46

Isla is pronounced eye-la.

GKite · 21/07/2018 15:34

I can't actually pronounce isla, icela? Blush isssla?
My daughter is Amelia, I know it's become so common now and my son is Leon

OP posts:
Condragulations · 21/07/2018 15:18

Isla?

Fivelittleduckies · 21/07/2018 14:56

Penelope Ina is nice

Fivelittleduckies · 21/07/2018 14:55

What is your daughters name? Sometimes it can help to find a name that complements the other child?

GKite · 21/07/2018 14:51

I've had a sit down and thought about it, penelope is the only name I can come up with that's "OK"
My partner likes Blair and then to use Ian as a middle name but is Blair Ian too boyish? 😖

OP posts:
Sugarpiehoneyeye · 21/07/2018 13:28

Rhian.

SheGotBetteDavisEyes · 21/07/2018 13:25

Switch the letters around...Nia?

Otherwise:

Nancy
Isobel
Harriet
Maude
Penelope
Georgina
Willa

Yika · 21/07/2018 13:22

Give her two middle names and make the initials spell out Ian

Isabel Anna Nancy
India Arwen Norah

Etc
