More like Krystal, Lexi and Demi or not . . .?

Last post for me on names, I promise! Thanks to everyone whose posted on my other thread :). I'm feeling so anxious about getting this wrong for some reason, hopefully it's just hormones . . .

Only name we now have for a girl is Nina, which we both like. The only Nina I know is my DH's 90 year old Indian great aunt! When I posted it recently, one poster said that she grouped it with names like Krystal and Demi. This surprised me I thought it was probably a pretty squarely middle class name and is on the rise in popularity but I don't know any Ninas in the UK or anyone who has named their daughter Nina so I wanted to check.

I hate the "ch" word so I won't use it, but do you see it like "Krystal and Demi" or more like, I don't know, Anna (which would be on my list if it wasn't DH's ex's name!)?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Definitely more like Anna by a thousand miles!

It’s a cool name. I know two under 5 near me (east London ) and their parents are trendy, arty people. One has a sister called Rita, the other has siblings called Iris and River.

Thanks everyone! You think you don't care anything about class and then you try to name a baby -- ugh, reveals the worst side of me. :(

Definitely more Anna. I know 2 Ninas; both in their 30s and both are intelligent, interesting kick ass women.

I think Nina is lovely :)
Possibly more common in other countries, which might be why you don't see it much here?
I think it's very similar to naomi

I love Nina. The others are totally different. I know a nina who is a beautiful polo player... if that helps

IrregularCommentary · 19/07/2018 15:11

Definitely more Anna than Krystal!

ParadiseLaundry · 19/07/2018 15:08

Nina's a lovely name and definitely not a 'Ch' name!

DownAtFraggleRock · 19/07/2018 15:06

Nina is in no way like Krystal or Demi in my book. Not 'ch' at all Grin

Also I don't mean to offend anyone with a Krystal, Demi or Lexi! One of the loveliest people I know is a Crystal actually.
