Ingrid or Sonja

We want a Scandinavian name for our girl due to a family connection, but also one which works well in English. Which on of either Ingrid or Sonja do you feel work well over here?

Asked my friend who has English as a second language and he pronounce Sonja as (son-ja). He pronounced Ingrid correctly as it follows English pronunciation rules better. Ignore people on thread saying they don't like either, it's what you like that counts.

They're both fine but Sonja is much nicer imo. Ingrid sounds really harsh (and Sonja is a bit more international)...

Ingrid is beautiful! Classy too. Sonja looks lovely with a J but speaking as someone with an unusual spelling I've tried to avoid it for our DC as it's such a pain.

I think Ingrid is more obviously Scandinavian and I love it, the only reason DD1 didn't have it as a first name was because I had a school friend who would have shared her name.

I think either would be fine, they are both easy enough to pronounce.

I like Sonja best.
