What do you think of this name?

I am expecting our second and I really like the name Percy. With my DS we didn't tell anyone the names we were thinking of (Arthur) and people seemed to accept it (though I was told later they were unsure when they first heard it).
I have been met with very odd facial expressions when I mention Percy. I thought it was cute! No one seems to like it and my DM says it's a nickname for a penis??!

I like it and know a nearly 2 year old Percy. I do prefer it as a nn for Percival though

I like Percy. I think it's due a comeback we have enough harrys, Freddie's, Archie's ect.

It makes me think of Percy Pigs and Percy Sugden. It might be cute but I don't think it is a manly name. It's frumpy.

I can't say I'm a fan of Percy, but I think it's OK. Shelley the poet! And surely the Percy Jackson films have made the name current again. I quite like Arthurian names anyway. I do think "point Percy at the porcelain" but it still seems less obvious than Dick or Willy as names that now tend to be off limits.

I have a Stanley and his first middle name is Arthur. I think they go lovely together. 😬

It's not my taste but I'm surprised at the bad reaction! I wouldn't bat an eyelid if I met someone named Percy.

I also thought Percy means penis.
Percy Weasley is a horrible character and having Arthur too will make people think of the Weasleys.
Percy Pigs are lovely though Wink so that’s a positive.
I think Stanley, Edward, Fred/George (if you do want a Weasley) all go well with Arthur.

Do hormonal teens or middle-aged men want a "cute" name? Can you picture your husband/colleagues/friends as Percys?

Baby/todddlerhood is very short. You are choosing a name for an adult.

How about Edmund?

I don’t mind it but (as above) I have heard people use the term Percy and the twins and would avoid for that reason alone.

Not a fan of Hugo (makes me think of Vicar of Dibley) but Toby is a nice name.

What about Toby (short for Tobias if you want a full name) if you decide not to go with Percy?
