We've decided to go with Tabitha, and are now trying to choose a middle name.

Our main ideas so far are:
Tabitha Agnes
Tabitha Violet
Tabitha Florence
Tabitha Maude
Tabitha Mildred
Tabitha Sybil
Tabitha Margot

We already have a Hugo Roland, if that's relevant Smile

Our surname is two syllables and starts with a D.

Tabitha Violet.
I love Maude, but not with Tabitha.

I think it depends on your surname. If your surname is straightforward (one or two syllables) then a longer middle name works better IMO.

Tabitha Violet Smith
Tabitha Violet Johnson

If it's a fussier surname of three or more syllables then I'd go for something shorter in the middle.

Tabitha Violet Williamson is quite long... in that instance Tabitha Mary Williamson would perhaps work better.

I love Tabitha Violet, Tabitha Emily, Tabitha Mary, Tabitha Amy, Tabitha Ivy, Tabitha Polly.

Tabitha Mary (I went to college with a Tabitha Mary and she was lovely)

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 13/07/2018 08:44

Tabitha Jean is good. I like the nn TJ as suggested previously.

AnyaMoondial · 13/07/2018 08:22

I really like Tabitha Agnes.
Tabitha Kate also works as pp said.

How about Tabitha Jean?

PersisFord · 13/07/2018 08:17

I thought Tabitha Jane when I saw the title as well!! Great minds thinking alike.

From your list I like Florence. Lots of the others are characters from the Worst Witch, which is a good thing but if you have a slightly witchy first name like Tabitha then to me it would seem like a bit of a Statement. That’s not necessarily bad, and I don’t know how many people nowadays read the worst witch....also Enid is the best character in the WW so you should think of that too.

Hellywelly10 · 12/07/2018 23:18

Ann?

Picknickers · 12/07/2018 23:17

A pp suggested Tabitha Pearl which to me is stunning.

ErrantBakedBean · 12/07/2018 20:30

Tabitha Maude is wonderful name. Not keen on Tabitha Agnes as the two 'a's together means it's harder to say.

Susannach · 12/07/2018 20:22

Not Rose!!

Loving Tabitha Violet and Tabitha Margot especially, but your whole list is good (apart from Mildred).

Tabitha Daphne
Tabitha Enid
Tabitha Pearl
Tabitha Nell

heartyrebel · 12/07/2018 20:16

I thought louise

MadhousMom59 · 12/07/2018 20:15

Tabitha tia

TheDowagerCuntess · 12/07/2018 20:11

I love how it's not even on your short list, but people still come on to suggest the default 'filler' middle name du jour - Rose. Grin

Your much more interesting list is far better. Margot would be my pick.

ParisNext · 12/07/2018 19:41

My son would have been Tabitha Ann if he'd been a girl

YoucancallmeVal · 12/07/2018 19:38

My immediate thought was Tabitha Joy. Or Tabitha Fflur, though weird if you aren't Welsh.

barleyreed · 12/07/2018 18:48

All lovely but when I saw the thread title I immediately thought Tabitha Jane!

autumnkate · 12/07/2018 14:24

Tabitha Kate

Icklepup · 12/07/2018 12:42

Tabitha Marie
Tabitha Louise
Tabitha Erin

Sammy867 · 12/07/2018 12:36

My little girl is Tabitha Jane
She sometimes gets the nickname T.J by her friends. I agree it needs to be a single syllable middle name for Tabitha.

SippingSipsmith · 12/07/2018 12:29

I was going to suggest Tabitha Rose too. I think a one syllable middle name works best IMO as Tabitha is 3 syllables.

mollymollymoo · 12/07/2018 12:24

Fleur

BasicBetty · 12/07/2018 10:41

Tabitha Florence

Tabitha Mary

TheVanguardSix · 12/07/2018 09:35

Tabitha Elodie

bridgetreilly · 12/07/2018 09:33

Maude, though for preference I would spell it Maud.

lifeisabeachsometimes · 12/07/2018 09:14

Tabitha Rose
