What names would you never use because you associate them with unpleasant girls from school?

For me: Sian, Veronica, Claire and Bronagh.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Elaine

Bronagh is a nice name, but the only one I've known was horrendous

Shona- again lovely name, awful person.

Miread. Two awful ones...then I met a really nice one as an adult, which confused me.

Verity or Vomity as we called her she was vile and I've met one other since school and she was a bitch too!

Wagtail89 · 11/07/2018 18:53

Rachael or Rachel
Lucy (only from school) I know some lovely Lucy's now but still wouldn't name my daughter Lucy.
From after school I wouldn't use Helen, Heather, Laura or Kate.

TatianaLarina · 11/07/2018 18:51

There weren’t really unpleasant girls at my schools. There were some very cool glamorous ones though.

TheFuckfaceWhisperer · 11/07/2018 18:46

I've never met a nice Michelle or Donna

Shockers · 11/07/2018 18:43

Most of my life I’d have said Lucy and Claire...... until in my thirties I met 2 of my loveliest ever friends who are called Lucy and Claire! The names have been redeemed Smile

ReggaetonLente · 11/07/2018 18:36

Two faced lying goody two shoes with an incredible lack of self awareness.

Ruth - despise the name Ruth. Not overly fond of Gemma's & Jenny's either, but I have met some nice ones over the years. I have never met a nice Ruth.

londonloves · 11/07/2018 17:44

From school- Fiona, Tilly, Louise.
Later life - Shelley.
Many many men's names if exes 😂

MrStarkIDontFeelSoGood · 11/07/2018 17:41

In later life

Dean, Kate, Karen, Linda, Bev, Pauline, Joanne

Had bad experiences repeatedly with bearers of these names

Was listing many of the worst from my form and realised it would out me

So I picked two stand outs

Hannah and Hayley

Both nice normal names but had HORRENDOUS experiences with two different Hannah’s at different times of life

Hayley was the friend you thought you had but made you out to be a bitch behind your back and encouraged others to exclude

I also could never name a son Carl or date one, absolute festering maggot

LuMarie · 11/07/2018 17:40

Oh, I know really lovely Lauras, Claires, Helens and a Vicky who is an angel!

However, despite the complete lack of logic, yes I also have names I associate with not nice things because of girls from school and even university!

By not nice I mean foolish tramps, oh dear!

Danielle, I don't like you (just one of you, but I still would refuse the name for anyone I was related to)

Rachel, utter moral-free tramp (just one of them but if I described what this one did, we'd have to ban all of them and it's actually a lovely name!)

Stephanie - scary blonde perm

Amy - baby name, no need to have baby intellect. Actually that's rude, I have to apologise to babies, they are way classier!

Also uncomfortable with Wendy for some reason. I don't really know why I'm scared but I am!

Ouch, these things do make an impression huh!
