Also I have a good friend with an Archer, are they too similar?

I know a lot of Archies. Their parents are either very posh and loaded or the complete opposite.

What is wrong with a popular name? At least it's easy for them to spell and people aren’t going to be like Lucy is that Lucy or Lucie?

It's trendy and imo a bit twee.

Archibald nn Archie is nice. (Archer is fine as well... I wouldn't worry about your friend already having an Archer.)

I don’t think the friends thing matters but unfortunately I do think it’s overly popular and very ‘of it’s time’ sorry

Alfie, Archie etc are very trendy and will probably start to sound dated as they fall out of fashion.
