I'm not pregnant and have no plans to name a child this.

I just saw it used as a name for the first time - it was an actress - and wondered what MN thought of the name.

I think it's pretty but probably wouldn't use it due to the word suck/suckle being part of it.

Opinions?

Such a beautiful flower. I don't dislike it as a name, but don't love it.
I quite like it for a sibset paired with Huckleberry though! Grin

AlyTab · 04/07/2018 01:15

Omg no. I'm all for unconventional but pretty names, but 'Honeysuckle' is definitely not the latter. Just no!

Greenday49 · 03/07/2018 23:38

My hamster's name when I was 9.

Phyllispontypandy · 03/07/2018 23:36

I love for a character in a novel perhaps. Sadly the 'suckle' bit is just a stretch too far. Love Honey as a first name though. Couldn't have it for DD sadly due to alliteration; would have sounded too porny.

SoftBlocks · 03/07/2018 18:53

Awful.

SunshineOutdoors · 03/07/2018 18:50

Ignore the rogue ‘s please

SunshineOutdoors · 03/07/2018 18:50

I like it. Makes me think of a flowering’s plant rather than honey plus suckle.

SilverySurfer · 03/07/2018 18:41

Hideously twee

MikeUniformMike · 03/07/2018 14:50

No but she was a child actress. It might be a bit different if you're an average kid in an average comp.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 03/07/2018 13:46

"The Honey is twee."
Yep no argument there.
"The Suckle bit is bound to get a child teased"
However it Doesn't seem to have done HW any harm.

Singadream · 03/07/2018 12:31

I love it for a child. For an adult not so much.

MariaMadita · 03/07/2018 12:23

Honey isn't my cup of tea but ok (pretty inoffensive).

Suckle is simple awful.

MikeUniformMike · 03/07/2018 12:21

Honey is twee and the suckle bit is bound to get a child teased.

BertrandRussell · 02/07/2018 17:34

I knew Honeysuckle Week's parents
back in the day. We tried to discourage her but to no avail. Her second name is Hero, which is better...

Mk1234 · 02/07/2018 17:31

Kids are mean...just remember that

SemperIdem · 02/07/2018 17:21

Absolutely not. No child should have “suckle” as part of their name. It’s borderline child abuse.

Honeysuckle Weeks has a sister called Perdita. That’s better.

mathanxiety · 02/07/2018 07:39

The suckle part is ewwwww. That child won't thank her parents as she grows older.

Ohyesiam · 01/07/2018 23:23

Too cute

Sophronia · 01/07/2018 23:21

I don’t like the suckle part.

Username12345 · 01/07/2018 19:58

Don't like suckle. Honey's better.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 01/07/2018 19:38

I dont like it. The Honey part is ridiculously twee and silly and the suckle part is awful. out of curiosity was it Honeysuckle Weeks.

NorthernLurker · 01/07/2018 19:04

It’s a bit much.

peachypetite · 01/07/2018 19:03

So sickly sweet.

DramaAlpaca · 01/07/2018 19:02

The only one I've heard of is the actress Honeysuckle Weeks. I've always thought it was a stage name but having just Googled her apparently it's her real name.

It's not my cup of tea at all.

Growingboys · 01/07/2018 18:58

Twee and a mouthful
